The past two weeks I have been getting rid of all these corporations. I have been thinking about doing this for a very long time, but as everyone knows, it is a pain to switch everything. But I have done this finally.
RCN CABLE AND INTERNET SUCKS
This is the worst cable company I ever saw in my life. I wrote about them last year. Since I had their systems installed almost 4 years ago, there has been nothing but problems. The tech guys have at least been here 30 or more times. Recently I have had tech guys here for the Internet, which keeps going out at the worst times. These tech guys do nothing. These companies need to be stopped and the only way is to finally say goodbye. They need to be told that bad service will not be tolerated. They raised my cable bill several times last year. They added charges for my HD converter, my digital converter, my movies and just about everything else. You would think that since you need their boxes to watch the TV, this would be included. Why do we put up with this crap?
Finally I get my bill last month, and after so many visits for them to fix the Internet, which they never did right, I see a huge increase. This was the last straw. I could have put up with the high bill, but having the Internet go out all the time and for them to have the balls to raise my rates once again, that was it. I also do not understand why they charge you a dollar to pay your bill online. They must save several dollars by having customers do this, so why charge them? They save on all the processing charges they incur when you send them a check.
I also call this company, and they were nasty on the phone when I wanted to cancel. They told me I had to return all the boxes, they would not pick them up and gave me some address on the other side of town. I bring everything there and they have bullet proof windows between them and the customer. This I do understand, with all their angry customers, they need some protection.
I ordered Netflix for $7.99 a month and ordered Internet from my phone company. Netflix is great, it really is. So many movies to watch and I am now saving over a hundred bucks a month on cable and most of all, I got rid of the aggravation and a company that really does not care. To think they bill themselves as a communication giant and can not even give good service in the communication capital of the world, Times Square.
BYE BYE SPRINT
After over ten years with Sprint Wireless, I got rid of them too. I got so tired of reading stories on Sprint firing American employees and hiring in other countries. They are willing to take Americans money, but not willing to hire them. I also got so tired of calling Sprint and speaking to someone in India. Not to be mean, but I could not understand almost anything their foreign employees said and I am sure they could not understand me. I wanted to send a message, no matter how small, that since Americans were not good enough for Sprint, than Sprint was not good enough for me.
The answer was to get Metro PCS, that gives you the same service for less than half the price. Another huge savings and I told another greedy company to F-OFF!
It is a real pain in the ass to leave companies. You have to change everything. But you send a very big message with every dollar you take away from them. If enough people leave them, they will get the message. Bad service will not be tolerated anymore and firing Americans to hire in other countries is just wrong and we need to stop this.
THE CROOKS OF BANK OF AMERICA
This company continues to look and find more and more ways to rip off Americans. I am very happy that Occupy Wall Street went after them this month. I told the heads there a while back to do this, this was a prime target and a well deserved one. Bank Of America will rip off millions of customers and get caught, and all they do is pay a small fine. It is not fair that the fines do not match what they stole. And Bank Of America just figures these small fines are a cost of doing business, while raking in millions for their CEO'S and shareholders.
If I had a scam like Bank Of America, I would be arrested and sent to jail. The heads of Bank Of America come up with scam after scam and no one goes to jail. They rake in billions of dollars and they do it by fraud. Yet they pay small fines, and we are the losers. We bailed these banks out and they have done nothing but S**T on us all. They also outsource to other countries and fire Americans. America bailed them out from all their crooked deals, and they won't even hire us.
The answer is to close your Bank Of America accounts.
TD BANK
TD bank is new to the scene. But they understand customer service. If you have one close to where you live, try them. They are open everyday, they have tons of employees to help you and they do not kill you with fees. If you live in New York City, TD Bank is for you. They are everywhere and they are fair to the customer.
TIME TO LEAVE WALMART
I was a huge shopper at Walmart. I got everything there. I can't tell you how much money I spent on computers there the past two years alone. I talked so many people into shopping Walmart. One order last year was a disaster. I ordered underwear and every pair had little holes in them. I ordered large shirts and they would not even fit a 5 year old. I complained. They told me to send it all back and they would replace. I explained to them that I was not willing to wait for 3 hours on a Post Office line to return 30 bucks worth of stuff. After several e-mails back and forth, they called me. The woman said forget about sending the stuff back, they would send me a replacement order. I thought that was nice, but then a few months later I look at my credit card bill and they charged me again. They ignored all future e-mails, so they lost me as a customer. For a few dollars, they lost me as a customer forever.
KOHLS KNOWS CUSTOMER SERVICE
This story goes back a couple of years, but it is worth showing you what customer service is.
I ordered hundreds of dollars worth of clothes from Kohls online when they had a promotion. For every 50 bucks you spent, you got Kohls cash back that you could use on a future purchase. When they sent the Kohls cash in a e-mail, it said could only be used in stores and not online. So I was pissed and I e-mailed them in the middle of the night and told them that there was no close Kohls in Manhattan. It would be impossible for me to get to a Kohls store. I could not believe minutes later I got a reply. They said how sorry they were and on my next order, contact them and they would credit my Kohls cash to whatever credit card I used. I was in shock, mostly by such good customer service. We never see that anymore. They also have since changed the promotion so online users can redeem online. The customer counts at Kohls.
AMERICANS MUST SUPPORT AMERICANS
This is the only way this country will survive. It is hard when you go to a Walmart and everything is made in China, but you have to start looking elsewhere. American products do cost a little more, but they are better quality and the job you save, might be yours. I know sometimes you just can not find a American product. But if you at least try, every person adds up. Every American product adds up. Every saved American job adds up!
I guess the point of this story is this. If we continue to take the crap that is what they will continue to give us. CRAP!
