Il Valentino Osteria Renowned Il Valentino is launching a more intimate eatery on the Upper East Side with a new name to match- Il Valentino Osteria. The original location of Il Valentino was in the Sutton Hotel, where the elegant spot was a frequent hangout of celebrities, business impresarios, and political figures and utilized for UN events. When the hotel decided to make a change, Restauranteur Mirso Lekic plotted out to find a location that is close to the original, and found that in its new location, on the corner of 59th Street on 1st Avenue. Lekic with the help of Dan Sehic of C3D Architecture, undertook a massive renovation of the space to make sure that the restaurant was a beautiful, casual place to enjoy that fused together traditional and modern design elements to create an elegant dining room. Jean Shafiroff In Oscar de la Renta Masterpiece Jean Shafiroff was snapped wearing a once in a lifetime dress, Oscar de la Renta's last designed masterpiece at the Metropolitan Opera Gala the other night. The philanthropist and style icon, Mrs Shafiroff turned hundreds of heads as she swanned down the red carpet at the Met's Opening Night Gala performance of Othello. Ms. Shafiroff's navy blue confection adorned with hundreds of dripping teardrop little faux diamonds was Oscar de la Renta's last great creation before his death. The gown was featured in his Pre-Fall 2015 collection. Jean Shafiroff, the iconic ballgown collector, will wear Oscar de la Renta's last great masterpiece from the designer's pre-Fall 2015 collection. The creation which she will only describe as a fantasy gown, will be worn only once by Mrs.Shafiroff. It then will be meticulously stored along with other priceless museum quality designer gowns. Mrs. Shafiroff plans to donate her iconic collection of designer ballgowns to a United States Museum sometime in the near future.
