MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC HOSTS 2022 GALA AT FAMED RAINBOW ROOM

  Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff Isabel Leonard With Carla Bossi-Comelli, Lorraine Gallard & James Gandre Manhattan School of Music (MSM) hosted its 2022 Gala on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, at The Rainbow Room, Rockefeller Plaza, in New York City. The gala honored Trustee Emerita Carla Bossi-Comelli (HonDMA ’20) and celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the School’s prestigious Orchestral Performance Program (OPP). Hosted by Isabel Leonard (HonDMA ’21), an alumna of MSM’s Precollege program and recently appointed member of the School’s Vocal Arts College faculty, the gala featured performances by faculty and distinguished OPP alumni from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera Orchestra, Harlem String Quartet, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic.   Jean Shafiroff Dr. Samuel Waxman With Pamela Morgan More than 200 people attended the sold out, 9th Annual Collaborating for a Cure Ladies Luncheon benefiting the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF), which made its grand return to New York City at Avra Madison Estiatorio. The sold-out event raised nearly $200,000 for groundbreaking cancer research aimed at improving treatments and decreasing the rising incidence of cancer due to aging.   Dr. Andrew Jacono was honored at the luncheon for his continued support of SWCRF, dedication to philanthropy, and passion for scientific advancement. LIFELINE NEW YORK HOSTS BENEFIT FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS IN SERBIA

  Jean Shafiroff Lifeline New York hosted their benefit dinner at Il Postino Ristorante in New York City. The dinner benefited children’s hospitals in Serbia, with half of the proceeds also going towards helping Ukrainian refugee children. Lifeline Humanitarian Organization is an international humanitarian organization that was founded in 1993 in response to the tragic situation in the former Yugoslavia, which was plagued by conflict and sanctions. Lifeline's mission is to alleviate and relieve the suffering of physically and mentally disabled children, orphans, and the elderly, as well as to improve medical facilities throughout the country.   Jean Shafiroff Jean Shafiroff With Martin Shafiroff   The Viennese Opera Ball - the oldest and most prestigious outside of Vienna - held its annual celebration for the 66th year at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City under the auspices of the U.S. Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The gala benefited the music therapy program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with support from Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research.
