DANIEL J. O'DONNELL THE PERFECT NEW YORKER FOR PUBLIC ADVOCATE

Image
Story By James Edstrom -- I received this yesterday. Let me tell you about Daniel J. O'Donnell. I have lived in New York my whole life. I know real New Yorker's. I know good politicians as I know many of them personally. Danny is one of the great ones. He has done so much for New York and when I heard he wanted to run for Public Advocate to replace Tish James, I knew this was the perfect job for him. He helped make New York the center for gay rights. His Marriage Equality Act changed everything for LGBTQ and his anti bullying legislation that makes schools responsible for fighting harassment.

All New Yorker's need to support Daniel J. O'Donnell for Public Advocate. This is the right man for the job. Please join the fight to get Danny elected. If you can, make a DONATION HERE.

FROM DANIEL J. O'DONNELL

It's right there in the title: Public Advocate. Not special interest advocate, corporate advocate, or even the mayor's advocate. This position belongs to the pe…

THE INSIDE STORY OF DONALD TRUMP: HIS AFFAIR WITH HIS MEXICAN MAID & HIS SMALL PENIS

Image
STORY BY JAMES EDSTROM -- Really, where on this map below does anyone see that we need a wall? But today at 3:30 he will say America is in danger from this caravan and his base will scream " build the wall". He will declare a national emergency with false dangers and lies if he does not get his way. His base will believe this lunatic. This is the only way out for Trump. He dug himself into a corner.
Donald Trump is no match for Nancy Pelosi. He degrades women. So Trump will announce a emergency because of this fake caravan danger and because Pelosi is not going to stand for this grandstanding and fake promises.
NEW YORK ALWAYS HATED TRUMP
Most of us here in New York City have always hated Trump because he was always this way. Others that hated him, now kiss his ass because they are rich and Trump makes them more rich. He is also getting advice from a few of my media friends that no matter what, will defend any republican no matter how evil. These media friends are experts. Th…

MAYOR BILL DE BLASIO SHARES HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN WITH ABC'S 'THE VIEW'

Image
Bill de Blasio shares his plan for free healthcare in NYC with The View.
"Everyone should have a right to healthcare," the NYC mayor says.
"Let's face it — the emergency room is the family doctor now for millions and millions of Americans and tax dollars pay for it," de Blasio says of the current system in place. "If you have a guarantee of healthcare, no matter who you are, you get a primary care doctor assigned to you, you have the ability to get all of the other care you need ... whatever it is, if you have access to it you will actually get the healthcare you need when you need it."
"If they don't get healthcare, if they get sick, if everyone is sick, if the whole community isn't healthy, then we all suffer," he explains why undocumented immigrants are included in his universal healthcare plan. "That's the blunt reality of this country — undocumented immigrants are part of our economy,"

STEPPENWOLF ENSEMBLE MEMBERS DISCUSS & PERFORM DOWNSTATE

Image
Following the world premiere at Steppenwolf in Chicago and prior to the London premiere at the National Theatre of Great Britain, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Steppenwolf ensemble member Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park) discusses his provocative new play Downstate. Set in downstate Illinois, in a group home shared by four sex offenders negotiating their place in a world that doesn't want them, Downstate pushes moral boundaries as it questions what happens when society deems anyone unworthy of forgiveness. For the first time in New York, Steppenwolf ensemble members, including Glenn Davis, K. Todd Freeman, Francis Guinan, and Tim Hopper, will perform highlights from the play.

DON LEMON SPEAKS TO 'THE VIEW' ON HOMOPHOBIA IN BLACK COMMUNITY & KEVIN HART'S APOLOGY

Image
Don Lemon On The View
Don Lemon on homophobia in the black community and his call with Kevin Hart after discussing the controversy publicly.
"I felt that I had to speak for my group, my people or nobody else was going to," the CNN anchor explains why he initially spoke out about the Kevin Hart controversy: "I needed [Kevin Hart] and society to see sort of the error of our ways when it comes to homophobia in our society."
"He said 'I'm sorry, I apologize.' He did it in his way and we can't bully people." Lemon discusses his call with Kevin Hart after speaking out about the controversy, and Hart's apology days later: "If he doesn't want to be an ally for the gay community, that's his prerogative. But it is missing an opportunity I think sometimes."

NEW YORK'S HIGHLINE BALLROOM STATEMENT ON FAMED CLUB'S CLOSING

Image
NEW YORK, NY -- Unfortunately after 12 years our landlord has decided not to renew Highline Ballroom's lease. For over a year we were led to believe that a renewal was imminent, however it is now clear that the landlord has other plans for the building. This is obviously a growing trend within the New York real estate market impacting various entertainment venues and businesses.
We plan on reopening Highline Ballroom at a new location in the Chelsea/Meatpacking District and are currently looking at options. We hope to be able to announce our plans soon.
In the meantime our final show date and programming will be announced shortly.
We have been very fortunate to present some of music's biggest names in a small club atmosphere; Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, The Killers, Amy Winehouse, The Black Keys, Artic Monkeys, Adele, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, The Roots and so many more have performed on the stage at Highline Ballroom. It is a shame that we have to close our doors, though we are grate…
