CAROL BURNETT AND TIM CONWAY ON TV LAND

TV Land announced today that television comedy legends Carol Burnett and Tim Conway will guest star on “Hot in Cleveland” in an episode currently scheduled to air in August. Burnett will play Victoria’s (Wendie Malick) mother Penny, a local TV legend and puppeteer on a children's program. Conway will make his return to the series as Nick, Elka’s (Betty White) ex-boyfriend, but this time around, Nick has his heart set on Penny. Burnett and Conway are the latest in a long line of extraordinary guest stars who have appeared on the sitcom, including Regis Philbin, Mary Tyler Moore, Heather Locklear and many more. 

“The ‘Carol Burnett Show’ is an American classic that helped pave the way for women in comedy,” said Larry W. Jones, President of TV Land. “It is our honor to reunite the dynamic duo of Carol and Tim to make magic with our ladies of ‘Hot in Cleveland.’”

XM’s Brett Winterble interviews Taking Woodstock author Elliot Tiber tonight (at 10:00 PM PT-channel 166) and got him to reveal for the first time, that a third and final tome on Woodstock, penned by him, will be released in the summer … titled After Woodstock (via Square One Publishing).

Winterble, who called the Woodstock event a “touchstone of our generation,” at one point, asked him what memory remained with him the most from the legendary event in 1969. Tiber replied, “Richie Havens’ performance of ‘Freedom’ – it was what we wanted, we fought for, and though it didn’t happen right away, is finally starting to come true. On Saturday, March 9 (7 pm), as part of Symphony Space’s The Music of Now Series, pianist Anthony de Mare returns to the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre for the second installment of Liaisons: Reimagining Sondheim from the Piano. Marrying his reputation as a champion of contemporary classical music with his deep respect for legendary musical theater composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim, de Mare is building a unique piano repertory by commissioning 36 leading contemporary composers from the classical, jazz, theater, and film worlds to write short solo piano pieces inspired by Sondheim’s music.

Anthony de Mare’s sold-out Symphony Space concert last April featured seventeen of the commissioned works, including pieces by Steve Reich, William Bolcom, Fred Hersch, and Marc-Anthony Turnage. Designer Domenico Vacca dresses Best Actor Winner, Daniel Day-Lewis, for his role in Best Picture Nominated Lincoln.


Vacca created a custom, navy blue tuxedo, single breasted which featured a shawl collar in grosgrain, which is the classic Italian sartorial tradition. The tuxedo shirt was a simple design and featured Domenico Vacca’s signature, high collar and was made in a basket weave cotton. Pants were high-waisted, narrow leg and had no belt loops as Day-Lewis opted not to wear a cummerbund. Daniel Day-Lewis’ initials were also hand sewn inside the jacket, truly personalizing the custom-made tux.

BRANDI GLANVILLE CELEBRATES BOOK AT LAVO

Friday night at LAVO in Las Vegas, Brandi Glanville celebrated the release of her new book Drinking and Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders, which was just named a New York Times bestseller. Wearing a pink dress from her new Brand B clothing line on the red carpet, she shared that she is already in the early stages of planning her second book and that while she is still contemplating topics, it may be about dating over 40 in this new digital age, confiding that she just broke up with two boys – “one east coaster and one west coaster”. Glanville confirmed that when she finishes promoting this first book she plans to stop speaking about her ex-husband’s affair, but admitted, “I’m sure there is more scandal I can get myself into down the road”.

Oscar Nominee for Zero Dark 30 star Jessica Chastain and Jacki Weaver were among the celebs who visited the Purity Vodka sampling station at the Writer’s Guild Awards Backstage Creations Celebrity Retreat.



Jessica picked up a bottle of Purity Vodka for her boyfriend Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo. “My new boyfriend loves Vodka. The bottle is pretty.” She was later chatting with Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal. Oscar nominee for Silver Linings Playbook Jacki Weaver took the Purity Vodka blind taste test. “Blind taste test, does that mean you taste until your blind? HUMANE SOCIETY ANNOUNCES NOMINATIONS

The Humane Society of the United States has named Universal Picture’s “Big Miracle,” Imax/Warner Bros.’ “To the Arctic” and Sony Pictures’ “Darling Companion” among the diverse selection of nominees in contention for its 2013 Genesis Awards, which honor the news and entertainment media for their role in raising awareness of animal issues. Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” and “Futurama,” and NBC’s “The New Normal” are in the running for the Genesis Sid Caesar Comedy Award, while ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” NBC’s “Harry’s Law and FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” are up for the dramatic series award.


Winners in select categories will be presented at The HSUS’ Genesis Awards Benefit Gala, hosted by “Dancing with the Stars” Carrie Ann Inaba, on Saturday, March 23, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
