TIME WARNER CABLE IN NEW YORK IS WORST BET

Image
**** CABLE GONE WILD ****
Replace Time Warner Cable With NETFLIX

I have been meaning to write this for a long time. I have never seen a company that has no customer service and really nails the customer when they complain and cancel their account.I am talking about Time Warner Cable.

I am not going to get into a big story here, I am on vacation at Dune Point Fire Island working on the first chapters of my new Alec Baldwin book, that hopefully will be ready for everyone to read sometime next year. But when I was on vacation last May, I left New York City forgetting to mail a check, and I can not believe the harassing phone calls from Time Warner,  for a bill around a hundred bucks.

The calls came non-stop and they were automated calls. When I pressed a button to speak to someone, I was on hold for a hour and I finally hung up. Then when this automated system called me again, I pressed the leave a message button and left a message to disconnect me, I am tired of these harassing phone calls w…

IS BRYAN CRANSTON THE NEXT LEX LUTHOR

Bryan Cranston

CRANSTON IS LEX? -- Is Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston getting ready to play Lex Luthor in the Man of Steel sequel? A book web site the other day declared that he’s been in talks for the role.
There’s no clarification from the powers-that-be, but having Cranston in the role would bring a certain gravitas to a role that’s always been somewhat difficult to cast. Gene Hackman as the character in the Christopher Reeve movies was cute, but not the right type of serious deviate Luthor is.

Nor, was Kevin Spacey in the subsequent re-boot movie Superman Returns (2006). There is one certain thing: that after the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman, it would certainly re-store some semblance of order to the whole project which has brought worldwide attention to the subject.

As Deadline Hollywood so succinctly put it, on the casting of Affleck, “I do not share the alarm expressed by just about all 300+ Deadline commenter's who've condem…

JEN GROOVER SAY'S " HABITS ARE BEHAVIORS"

Image
**** 7 Habits for an Empowered Life ****

Jen Groover

Habits are behaviors we choose both consciously and subconsciously. They define the outcome of our days. Positive, productive habits give us better outcomes than destructive habits, and the most powerful habits are those that begin with understanding and controlling your thoughts. Though the following habits are not often discussed in common dialogue, they have been critical in all of my work and personal transformation. Each can be quickly adapted and easily applied—so long as the ego does not overrule your desires.

#1 BE MORE MINDFUL

The solid foundation of change, growth, and evolution begins with a commitment to being more mindful. Once you become more mindful, you can expand your awareness. Paying attention to how your every thought causes actions and reactions, you can effectively evaluate which behaviors are serving you well and which are damaging and holding you back from the results you truly desire. Become aware of e…

Katy Perry

For the first time since its creation, music industry elite took to the red carpet on Sunday, August 25th at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn for MTV’s Video Music Awards. Besides remarkable designer dresses and other fashion statements, bold brows were the talk of the red carpet. Celebrity eyebrow stylist Joey Healy selected the best brows of the evening and brows that can use a little shaping up, and shares a few tips on how to get or fix each look.

The Winners

Katy Perry

Katy Perry always rocks a roaring bold brow, but her VMA brows were her best yet! Katy has evolved from a pinup brow to a more natural feminine version. Where there is still nothing understated about Katy Perry, her brows are now flattering her facial features in a more grown up way. With her signature defined arch and deep color, Katy’s brows did not appear too filled in or overdone but were right on the mark.

REAL STORY ON ALEC BALDWIN'S ANGER & FAMILY

Alec Baldwin

I am no longer going to be quiet. I am sick of watching all this Alec Baldwin crap time after time. His hatred for the media and for the photogs who have every right to photograph him on the streets of New York City, has got to stop. I know first hand, I had to take him and his mother to court.

This Baldwin family is not nice. They are mean, deceitful and I cannot believe they continue to get away with acting like this. So I have contacted several people who used to work for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund and Stony Brook University Hospital, and I am going to write a tell-all book. It is time.

For those who do not know, I had to sue Alec and his mother Carol for breach of contract over a deal that was voted on by the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Fund board of directors. The deal was that I would help arrange their first fund raising event on Long Island in 1997. I didn’t ask for a fee, but it wa…

SENSATIONAL PERFORMANCES FOR "THE BUTLER"

Image
**** THE GLORIOUS CORNER

Forest Whitaker

THE BUTLER WOWS --- I had mixed feelings going into The Butler, or, Lee Daniels’ The Butler … but, I simply loved it. Sure, the Forest Gump-ish moments (glimpsing Reagan, Nixon, John and Kennedy, not to mention footage of Carter and Obama) were perhaps somewhat formulaic … but, the performances by Forest Whitaker, as The Butler, Cecil Gaines, and, Oprah Winfrey, as his wife Gloria … are just plain sensational.

The film opens with Gaines as a child living with his family working on a cotton plantation; his father is killed before his eyes forming his desire to do better and make better for his life. The matron of the plantation, an amazing performance by Vanessa Redgrave, takes him into the mansion where he becomes a servant, learning his craft amazingly well. Soon, he departs and in frustration breaks into a hotel where one of the servants (an exacting Clarence Williams III) takes him in and teaches him even more about the craf…
