RxArt, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving pediatric hospital environments through art, hosted an evening of sunset cocktails on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at The Bridge Golf Course in Bridgehampton. The cocktail party served as a pre-cursor to the organization’s annual benefit event, the RxArt 13th Anniversary Party, which will take place in September 2013.
Since its founding in 2000 by Diane Brown, RxArt has steadily aimed to improve pediatric hospitals by transforming the intimidating environments into comforting, engaging spaces. Using site-specific contemporary art as its platform, RxArt provides patients and their families the opportunity to escape the stresses and pains of illness and instead offers a sense of hope.
RxArt President and Founder Diane Brown was joined by many supporters, including Work of Art star and RxArt Board Member Bill Powers; BRAVO TV’s Trez Thomas; author and “The Style Guy” of GQ Glenn O’Brien; artists Peter Dayton, Enoc Perez, and Aaron Young; fashion designers Rachel Fleit and Tanya Taylor; photographers Philippe Cheng, Jack Pierson and Bastienne Schmidt; interior designer John Bjornen; bridal and fashion designer Gregory Nato; and former RxArt Board Member Regina Feuer and husband Brian Feuer.
Upon arrival guests were greeted with specialty cocktails compliments of Xanté in addition to a selection of champagne provided by Nicolas Feuillatte. Guests also indulged in delectable hors d’ouerves handcrafted by Sweden’s Junior National Culinary Team, a team of gold medal chefs who spent the summer preparing gourmet appetizers at various Hamptons charity events.
The RxArt 13th Anniversary Party will be held at the Lever House in New York City on Monday, September 16, 2013, and will serve as a special tribute to artist Kenny Scharf and his installation for Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn.
