Jean ShafiroffHelen Yarmak debuted her fall/winter 2011 collection of unique furs and jewelry at her prestigious showroom within the Crown Building on Fifth Avenue to fashion-insiders and admirers such as designer Emma Snowdon-Jones, Russian VOGUE’s Victoria Davydova, Fox News Ainsley Earhardt and Kimberly Guilfoyle, authors Anisha Lakhani and Rhonda McKnight, stylists Ann Caruso, Susan Tabak, Amanda Ross and Mia Morgan and philanthropist Jean Shafiroff. The presentation, which was held in the Royal Terrace Penthouse, was inspired by Queen Elizabeth II’s knighting of rock stars such as Sir Elton John, Mick Jagger and Bono. Helen Yarmak’s collection, with the royalty of fur and the energy of rock ‘n’ roll, was both regal and liberating, demonstrating that fur isn’t just outerwear but an integral part of one’s daily ensemble!
The collection features modern and expressive silhouettes in easy shapes such as side-buttoned ponchos, oversized vests and shrugs in cinnamon brown and midnight black. Sheared mink vests with wide belts in camouflage patterns were effortless as other furs revealed embossed leather and soft suede details. Highlights of the collection included shiny kidskin combined with goat and a beautiful coral fox vest with tassel button features. Dressed in 7 For All Mankind denim and jewelry from Helen Yarmak Jewelry collection—bold rings in the shape of “rocks,” gemstone earrings and large stone denim jewelry—the presentation was styled by Lucy Sykes Rellie and featured models walking on a platform stage with live music by Reni Lane.
