The Children’s Club, a press and trade show event for children’s apparel, accessories, toys and textiles, begins Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Jacob Javits Center, where fashion-insiders will have an exclusive preview of the new collection which is inspired by Christopher’s twin godchildren, Phoebe (aka the Phish) and Freddy (aka the Frog), born 20 months ago. Originally named Little Christopher Fischer, the collection first debuted in 2007, and has only been available at Christopher Fischer Boutiques. Responding to his customer’s requests to carry the baby range as well as his women’s and men’s collections, Christopher renamed, reinvented and expanded the line, which will be available at select luxury children’s boutiques and department stores, as well as the Christopher Fischer boutiques in New York City, Southampton, East Hampton and Greenwich, CT, for the Fall season. The Cashmere House, as the brand is famously called, will also launch a separate baby wear website alongside their www.ChristopherFischer.com website, which features luxury lifestyle designs for men and women, pet accessories and home and travel necessaries. Don’t expect to find traditional baby designs from this designer! Christopher Fischer keeps his key theme of luxury lifestyle for even the smallest of fashionistas. In this collection, aimed for newborns to age four, Christopher has chosen to stay away from typical pastel colors to which many gravitate. The pure cashmere line will present apparel and accessories—in delicate heather hues of oatmeal beige and silver grey, highlighted by pure white and black—featuring knitted items such as jackets, cardigans, sweater, pants, booties, mittens, hats, blankets and toys. The must-have Christopher Bear and Baby Blanket is sure-to-be the ideal gift for hip parents like David and Victoria Beckham, or a chic grandmother such as Goldie Hawn, looking to treat baby to their first cashmere experience!
