Media and entertainment industries recently gathered to celebrate the memorial of Bill Murray, formerly editor of New York’s Celebrity Bulletin, at Lair Restaurant & Lounge. Part of the Celebrity Service team since 1977, Bill was a familiar figure in New York’s entertainment community for over 3 decades. The intimate event, which was sponsored by Celebrity Service, brought out industry-insiders who toasted one-of-the most adored and admired individuals in the entertainment field. Those in attendances were friends and coworkers of Bill, such as Celebrity Service’s Mark Kerrigan, Jeff Williams, Elaine Armstrong, Daryl Lathon, Eve Fitzpatrick, Dina Pitenis and Michael Portantiere, Publicists Janice Roland, Robin Verges and Scott Gorenstein , Broadway Press Agents Gary Springer, Richard Hillman and Bruce Cohen and Photographers Dick Corkery and Aubrey Reuben. Three time Emmy winner Rita Cosby was also there with Tomaczek Bednarek. Bill Murray, who had been the editor of Celebrity Bulletin since 1979, passed away March 2, 2010. Well-known in the social scene, Bill attended film premieres, private soirees, Broadway openings and cultural events, as well as shows at New York City’s Lincoln Center, making numerous donations to the New York City Ballet. Murray was the cousin of Deborah Farrell, Patricia Alconada, Tim Flaherty, Elizabeth Farrell and Nicholas Farrell. Lair Restaurant & Lounge hosted the event and is located at 201 Lafayette Street, Btwn. Broome & Kenmare Streets in New York City.
