A festive crowd arrived at Mackenzie-Childs for a holiday shopping experience that supported the Southampton Hospital. The evening was hosted by Jean Shafiroff, Chairwoman of the Hospital’s Summer Gala in 2010 and the Gala to be held on August 6, 2011. Those in the holiday shopping spirit included CEO of Mackenzie-Childs Lee Feldman, Director of Retail & Trade Operations for Mackenzie-Childs Jamie De Vault, Southampton Hospital Foundation President Steven M. Bernstein, Martin Shafiroff, Kathleen de Monchy, Laura Lofaro Freeman, Sharon Kerr, John and Margo Catsimatidis, Myra Weiser, Victoria Wyman, Melanie Wambold, Andrea Greeven Douzet, Sharon Bush, Lucia Hwong Gordon, Yaz Hernandez, Margot Langenberg, author Rita Cosby, Ann Rapp, Zita Davisson, Lisa Evers of FOX News, Cassandra Seidenfeld Lyster, and Ranee Bartolacci-Meir of Insignia Productions. In addition to shopping, all the guests enjoyed cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres. Chairwoman, Jean remarked that she was “thrilled that so many people came out to support Southampton Hospital” and that she was “pleased with the results of the fundraiser.”

All attendees received twenty percent off one regular priced item of their choice and complimentary shipping for orders over $295 from Mackenzie-Childs, with ten percent of all sales donated to Southampton Hospital. The success of the event built on Jean’s record-breaking fundraising for the 2010 Summer Gala, which this year supported the operations of Southampton Hospital’s recently opened Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department.

The Mission of Southampton Hospital is to provide and ensure the highest quality of healthcare services to communities from Westhampton to Montauk. Donations help launch important new programs and services, sustain and improve current initiatives, acquire urgently needed equipment and medical technology, provide care to vulnerable and disadvantaged populations, initiate capital projects, renovate and refurbish current facilities, support annual projects, and educate and train the healthcare providers of tomorrow. Thanks to the tireless fundraising efforts by supporters of the Southampton Hospital, it has achieved a high level of excellence in patient safety and care. In 2010 the hospital was awarded the Healthgrades’ Patient Safety Excellence Award for the second time and was recognized by The Healthcare Association of New York State with its Pinnacle Award for Quality and Patient Safety.
