STARS RUN FROM RIHANNA INVESTIGATION
Pop star Leona Lewis is keeping her distance herself from the Rihanna and Chris Brown scandal after she was accused of flirting with the singer before he allegedly lashed out at his award winning girlfriend. Leona reportedly upset Rihanna at a Clive Barnes pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles California on Saturday night, by making moves on her boyfriend. The couple left the event and minutes later they were part of a police investigation following a hysterical emergency call suggesting Brown had beaten an unnamed female. Reports later suggested the woman involved was his girlfriend, Rihanna, who was allegedly hospitalized after the fight. Brown later handed himself into police and was charged with making criminal threats.Media speculation about the cause of the fight has been rampant in the days following the news, but Lewis is insisting her name should never even have been mentioned in connection with the incident at all. In a statement, a spokesman for the singer says, "Leona was at the pre-Grammy party with her family and boyfriend and had nothing whatsoever to do with any argument that may have ensued between Chris and Rihanna. Any allegations that the pair had flirted are completely false." Singer Keisha Chante has also distanced herself from the controversy after it was claimed she sent Brown a text message, which upset Rihanna. Reports suggest Chante and Brown have been secretly dating, and Rihanna allegedly flew into a rage when she thought her love rival was texting the star. But Chante’s manager, Mona Scott, tells Us Weekly magazine, "This is another unsubstantiated, untrue report; she was nowhere near the incident in any way. "She’s not even dating Chris! I think they met a few years back, probably three or four years ago in Canada… but that’s it. It’s crazy. There's been a continuous kind of reporting of them linked together, and this has been the worst of it all."
