Sexy Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey has named his his newborn son Levi Alves. The star reportedly chose the first name because it’s a Biblical variant of Matthew, and corresponds with the time the baby was born in Los Angeles California yesterday. The surfing actor explains, "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person. Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: ‘If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.’" McConaughey adds he chose to add Alves as his son’s middle name because, "we wanted to incorporate her family name (his girlfriends)." In a statement, the thrilled dad has also offered a greeting for his newborn son: "We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin’."
