MICKY DOLENZ RETURNS TO WCBS RADIO

Micky Dolenz

Former Monkee-MICKY DOLENZ, who was unceremoniously dumped by WCBS FM when they suddenly switched to the then-revered JACK-radio format, (and, now having switched back to their award winning formula) will do a guest stint next Sunday, February 3, on the station, as part of their GREATEST NY DJ SERIES. Might it lead back to another permanent slot for Dolenz, who for 6 months, had the wonderfully received MICKY IN THE MORNING SHOW? "Anything is possible, " says a radio-insider, "As CBS' ratings are in the toilet. If it ain't broke... don't fix it ... and, they tried and are now paying the price." Interestingly enough, the entire station staff, including PD-DAVE LOGAN, were let go, so it's a whole new playing field.DOLENZ, who is playing tonight (Saturday) in Chicago, is in New York all next week and will be at STEVE WALTER's CUTTING ROOM Thursday night to see 60's pop-legend DONOVAN (where a live DVD is being done by DENNIS FERRANTE); and, will also be sitting with Times Square Gossip for an exclusive new interview. Dolenz also plays The WOLF DEN at MOHEGAN SUN next week.
