REPUBLICAN VALUES: SARAH PALIN'S SON ARRESTED

Sarah Palin

We just love the Republican Palin family. Their family values and their religious beliefs  all represent what the Republican party stands for. The Palin's daughter really represents their religious Values by getting pregnant at age 17 and not married. And their son arrested for felony burglary and assault yesterday. Not the first time either. Track Palin was also arrested in January 2016 on domestic violence charges in Wasilla. Palin was charged with assault in the fourth degree, interfering with a domestic violence report, and misconduct involving weapons in the fourth degree. Republican values.

The son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was arrested again and arraigned Sunday on domestic violence charges.

Track Palin, was arraigned Sunday morning on charges of felony burglary, assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief for causing property damage in Wasilla, Alaska, according to court records. The criminal mischief charge was for causing between $250 and $999 in property damage.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, according to the court records, which indicated that all charges were related to domestic violence.

Palin Attorney John Tiemessen said in a statement to NBC News on Sunday. “They ask that the family’s privacy is respected during this challenging situation just as others dealing with a struggling family member would also request.”

VENTURA LASHES OUT AT SARAH PALIN & BILL O'REILLY

****
GO GET THEM GOVERNOR
****

Jesse Ventura

Anderson Cooper, Sarah Palin, and Bill O'Reilly have been critical of the jury's verdict in Jesse Ventura's recent lawsuit against the estate of Chris Kyle. Jesse Ventura explains that none of these pundits reviewed the actual evidence. He responds to these pundits on his podcast, "We the People with Jesse Ventura" available on iTunes and AdamCarolla.com.

One of the biggest misleading points fueled by Cooper, Palin, and O'Reilly is that Jesse Ventura's award money is coming from Chris Kyle's widow, Taya. However, this is completely false. The insurance company for Chris Kyle's book publisher (HarperCollins) not only paid all fees associated with the trial, but will also be paying the full $1.8 million that the jury awarded Ventura.

Here's quotes from Jesse Ventura's response to Anderson Cooper:

Anderson Cooper doesn’t know a thing about this case because he hasn’t seen one shred of actual evidence. And I did not sue a widow and her children...That suit took place January of 2012. He [Chris Kyle] did not die until February, I believe, of 2013. So when his wife, Taya, took over as executive of the estate, she knew the lawsuit was part of it. She knew that when she chose to do it. She didn’t have to come into the lawsuit. She made a choice to come into the lawsuit. The executer of the estate could be a lawyer, it could be a brother, it could be an uncle, and anyone could be named the executer of an estate. So she made the choice to come into this trial and I believe that choice was made for the precise reason Anderson Cooper is defending, to make it look like I sued a widow and her children. And you know Anderson Cooper didn’t realize that she had insurance. Insurance paid for everything. I didn’t have insurance. I had to pay for everything myself. And he also doesn’t know that during settlement talks I offered to drop it for no money if they would simply give me back my reputation. Admit it was fabricated and we’d move on. They told me that wouldn’t happen. The only thing they would talk is money. They tried to buy me out of this; I wouldn’t take it because I wanted my reputation.

Sarah Palin is a quitter:

It goes without saying that Sarah Palin isn't much of a reader or independent thinker. Instead of addressing the blatant facts she ignored during her smear campaign of Ventura, the former governor had this to say of her short time in office:

Julian McMahon

NIPPED AND TUCKED – This Wednesday is the final Nip/Tuck episode after 7 years. I must admit that though I completely missed season one; I've watched it ever since season two and even when the characters up and moved (from the show's original South Beach roots) to L. A., though it did seem to get even a bit more incredulous. That said, I kept watching and this final season has evidenced not only some terrific writing, but also stellar turns from Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh. They usually started the show by asking potential clients 'what don't you like about yourself?' One show this season started with a marriage counselor asking the two leads that question! I mean, if you buy the premise … and, truth be told, it did get wild at times, it was captivating TV. Wednesday’s EP is entitled “Hiro Yoshimura” and the preview did show some astounding scenes of most of the characters sitting together and actually looking like they were enjoying it. I'll miss this show just for the fact that it was out and out absurd at times. I mean, even Rosie O’Donnell was on several seasons back as a character on a reality show that fell in love with her obviously-gay producer. I know it sounds like another daily occurrence at ESPN, but it was hilarious … trust me. Surely McMahon and Walsh will go onto greater things, but Nip/Tuck remains a formidable moment on cable TV. Don't know about you, but it remains hard for me to believe that the guy who came up with Nip Tick’s premise, Ryan Murphy, came up with “Glee.” Amazing!

James Cameron

OSCARS - Here’s my yearly shot to speak on next weekend’s Oscar race. Before I state my guesses, let me just say that “A Single Man,” starring Colin firth IS probably the best performance of the year … from a quality standpoint I think. He'll never win the Oscar, but his performance is utterly riveting. If you haven't seen it … you owe it to yourself too. A Tom Ford-Vogue postcard. A treat for sure. OK, here goes: BEST PICTURE: Avatar - Because it was an event and it is James Cameron after all. He has made his films events … and, Hollywood likes that … I think! King Of The World and all that too. BEST ACTOR: – Jeff Bridges - What a great actor and because he deserves it; my favorite film of his, “Fearless.”SUPPORING ACTOR: Christoph Waltz - Been around for years and Tarantino found him … brilliant move! ACTRESS: Sandra Bullock - The performance of her career … she was spot-on perfect! Good movie too! SUPPORTING ACTRESS: - Maggie Gyllenhaal - Riveting performance … she’s a great actress. DIRECTOR: - James Cameron – See above! ABBEY ROAD -- Can EMI Records really be selling the legendary Abbey Road studios in the U.K? Boy, things must be bad if the ancestral home of such legendary groups like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Wham, U2, and Queen, is on the chopping block. Truth is, these days you can pretty much make a studio out of your apartment … and, before you laugh, that’s more the norm these days. Still, it’s tantamount to Disney selling their copyrights! EMI is pushing the idea to pay back their investors … as they rightly feel it’s a high priced commodity. Paul McCartney was contacted and expressed his shock and dismay. Andrew Lloyd Webber, who’s got more money than even McCartney these days, said he just might buy it. You know the famed Capitol Towers out in L. A. at Hollywood and Vine? Several years back, they closed up most of the office space and built some condos. Tragedy yes … reality, for sure!

Carly Simon

CARLY SIMON --- So, the U.K.-media has busted a gut proclaiming that Carly Simon has come out and said who her song “You're So Vain” is about ... David Geffen? Coming in tandem with a new album from Carly does seem a mite too convenient … right? Everyone from Mick Jagger to Warren Beatty have been the rumored subject of that song … but, the media , with a nod from Simon, now claims it’s Geffen of all people. Geffen ran Asylum Records, not Elektra, where Carly was based for those hit-making years. They're saying she was jealous of the attention and affection Geffen gave to Joni. Hell, they lived together for several years … maybe Carly should have tried that maneuver? As our savvy colleague Roger Freidman said (damn, he always gets it so right!) “Geffen can rest easy … he never would have been caught dead wearing an apricot scarf anyway!” My money’s on Mick … he even sings on the song and would have had no problem singing about him. In fact, he'd probably loved it! AT&T COMMERCIAL/PERFECT DAY ---I always get a mite giddy when I hear Iggy Pop’s immortal “Lust For Life” used as a car commercial. I mean, they edit out all the fun lines, but, it’s still Iggy! The other day I saw a commercial for AT&T and they used Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” as the music. Brilliantly done and realized. The visual are of a spacewalk … just perfect, you know? Reed's an out-and-out genius.

David Patterson

PATTERSON/CUOMO/A MESS --- I never quite got David Patterson. Sure, the SNL-skit might have been a tad offensive, but I laughed right along with the rest of New York and America. Coming into office after the Elliot Spitzer debacle would have proven a raw deal for almost anyone, but he definitely flip-flopped so often it proved downright irritating. His seemingly regular attacks on the government of New York proved hurtful to hear too. Sure it isn't easy, but he took the job. Remember, he was never voted in … nor ran. Now, he won't run … just after saying he would a mere two weeks ago. I guess this paves the way for Andrew Cuomo to run; all these years after Papa Mario didn't because of much negative innuendo … which was never proven. Let’s face it, it’s a cesspool there. I don't know Andrew at all … but, maybe this is one fight not to win.

Diana Ross

WE ARE FAMILY --- So producer Nile Rogers is writing a book. His assistant Sooze actually revealed it to me about a year ago at the China Club. According to Roger Friedman, he’s thinking of entitling it “We Are Family,” after the successful Sister Sledge song (and, album) he produced for them. Along with paramour Nancy Hunt, Roger has cooked up many a successful idea. Be it his We Are family charity (where Micky Dolenz performed two years … and, it was fantastic; the voice of The Monkees .. and, Chic!) or his many successful record productions with Madonna, Duran Duran, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, the B52s, Sister Sledge, or David Bowie. First and foremost, he was the ringleader of the very influential group Chic that exploded onto the burgeoning dance music scene in the 80s. “Good Times,” “Dance Dance Dance,” and “Le Freak” being three of their monster hits. For me, my favorites were always “I Want Your Love” and “Keep On Dancin’.” As a die-hard Hall And Oates fan, I must reference their song “Adult Education” that Nile mixed for them … as well as adding his dynamic guitar work. That song, to me, is one of the major pivotal rock/dance hits of the 80s. That original lineup in Chic, Rogers, with the late-Bernard Edwards, Fonzi Thornton, Tony Thompson, and vocalist Norma Jean Wright, were the forerunner of much of the dance music scene, and all these years later Chic remains the template for much of R&B music. If you've ever been to a club, you have danced to their music. It was, truly sublime. I’ll never forget one early morning in the 80s I was in a cab heading back to my Upper East Side residence, slumped way back in the cab and we stopped at the 84th and 5th Avenue exit waiting for light to change. All of a sudden I heard this tremendous music real loud, I looked up and there in a Porsche, with two extremely good looking women, was Nile. We acknowledged each other with a nod and a wink and then we both went back to business. His book, which will come via Random House, should be priceless.

Bruce Willis

COP OUT – This Bruce Willis/Tracy Morgan epic, originally titled “A Couple Of Dicks,” was actually rather funny. I don't know how many times Willis has played a cop … but, rest assured he’s got it down pat. Here his cop is more of a Zen-one, as opposed to the out-ad-out commotion that some of the other roles immediately bring to mind. Kevin Smith directed, but didn't write the script (the first time that’s happened) and as a buddy-buddy flick, was not a bad one at all. I've never really come to terms with Morgan. “30 Rock” I really don't watch and even his antics on SNL left me often nonplussed. Here’s, he seems to playing exactly the same role. After all the “Lethal Weapon” movies, and, Murphy and Nolte in “48 Hours” … there really is nothing new. In fact, the one thing that certainly left me smiling was the outrageous music score done by one Harold Faltermeyer … yes, of all the “Beverly Hills Cop” movies of eons ago. Early on, Morgan channels dozens of lines from other such buddy/buddy movies … including the famous ‘Yippee Ki Yea’ from the first “Die Hard” movie. Willis listens and sarcastically adds, ‘I never saw that one!” That was, the best moment of the film. Kevin Pollack is along here too and he’s great as always. It was the #2 movie this weekend … so, the fan base still seems to be there for Bruce and Tracy.

Jay Leno

THE RACE IS ON … AGAIN – Jay Leno returns tonight as the new and former host of The Tonight Show … with Sarah Palin as a guest on Tuesday. Nikki Finke coined the term “Jaysurrection’ and I just adore it. Suffice to say, if you're a reader of this column, you know what I'll be watching tonight, although I just might have to DVR the other guy. Kevin Eubanks announced he'd be leaving shortly, which cannot be construed as anything but another nail in the Leno Coffin. TV’s definitely strange … all that counts is the ratings! And, if you get really bored … you can go Jaywalkin’!

Conan O'Brien

LATE NIGHT BLOWOUT: Since our Monday posting, Conan has graciously rejected the 12:05AM, slot for the beleaguered Tonight Show. Simply saying, a franchise like that doesn’t belong at that time, it’s always been at 11:30PM and should remain. Can’t fault him for his logic. Letterman said it best Monday night, when he said “NBC is bringing Johnny Carson back.” Lord knows, we could use him. It’s been said that Leno is damaged goods and that Conan is the future. Hmmm … kind of makes sense. Letterman also had another priceless line Monday night … “Again, I didn’t get the Tonight Show.” Priceless! Bill Carter, the New York Times TV critic, who wrote the terrific book LATE SHIFT about the Leno/Letterman/Tonight Show rift back in 1996 (which HBO tuned into a terrific tele-movie), said this morning that his prediction is that Leno will indeed return to host the Tonight Show in its proper time slot, followed by Fallon … and, NBC will bench Conan for the time being. To me, that seems a huge error. Conan is edgy and is the future. By next week this will certainly all be sorted out, but, what drama!

Simon Cowell

AMERICAN IDOL MINUS TWO: First Paula, now Simon is exiting the phenomena called American idol. I must admit, I’ve never gotten into the show; even the constant bickering between the judges didn’t shake my tree. Simon though, is playing the game like a true industry gunslinger. With X Factor, his show, coming in 2011, he’ll be even higher on the heap than he is now. His new company, Syco, partnered with Sony Entertainment (who by the way, produced and released the Susan Boyle #1 CD of the year) will be sharing equally in the production of the new show. And, Paula Abdul, will join him as a judge. Now, who won’t be able to resist that? Oh, that Simon! Gotta’ love him.

Publicity King David Salidor With Mark Bego

CHINA NIGHTS: Danny Fried, erstwhile proprietor of the China Club, in addition to prepping that book with Mark Bego we told you about Monday, has also written a screenplay … called Morgan’s Revenge. Let’s called it a historical drama, has quickly been making the rounds of film studios and has emerged as a hotly contested prize. Fried, whose drive and determination has made his club a true epicenter of entertainment; certainly in the 80s and even now, has been re branded as the major entertainment club in Times Square. Back in those halcyon days, the club was located right next to the Beacon Theatre and now is based on 47th and 8th in Manhattan. Fried, who was in the clothing business before he met future partner Michael Barrett, had a vision of an entertainment mecca and saw his dream come true. The club has had everyone from Rod Stewart to Steve Winwood to Elton John hang there, as well as perform. Fried, who became close with Stewart early on, delights in retelling the tales of the legendary jam sessions. “Steve Winwood with Ron Wood and Bowie … just amazing. Stewart would sit in my office and we’d sing old blues song. Magic moments for sure.” Fried’s screenplay started as an idea and quickly grew into a multi-hued full blown work. He’s already had it read by some on tinsel town’s heaviest hitters and they have given it an A+. More on this to follow.

Tobey Maguire

SPIDEY SHOCKER: With director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire bowing out of Spider Man 4 … the goal now is to recast the entire creative end, re-boot the franchise, and make the fourth installment in 3D. The first three Sony Spider epics have made billions and while the promise of another installment did have tongues wagging, maybe the wise thing to do is to re-cast everything. Speaking of 3D, and really, who isn’t … word from the ongoing AVN convention in Vegas, is that the latest thing in porn is 3D! Can you imagine … insert own joke here!!! We know that Johnny Depp’s next Alice In Wonderland is in 3D and we hear that the next James Bond (directed by our friend Sam Mendes) will also be in 3D.

Joy Behar

GLADD TO BE: The nominees for its 21st media event include Tom Ford’s A Single Man; Lee Daniel’s Prcious; Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock; Little Ashes starring Robert Pattinson; AMC’s Mad Men; Fox’s show Glee; ABC’s Modern Family; Logo’s RuPaul’s Drag Race; the daytime drama One Life To live; HLN’s The Joy Behar Show; the Early Show’s in-depth interview with Chaz Bono; Lada Gaga; Adam Lambert and Spanish-language nominees Sabado Gigante, Primer Impacto and Al Rojo Vivo. SIMON & GARFUNKEL: The duo are set for their first-ever appearance at the New Orleans Jazz fest this year. Also scheduled to appear are: Van Morrison; Aretha Franklin; The Neville Brothers; Allman Brothers Brand; Darius Rucker; My Morning Jacket; and, Widespread Panic. STEVENS ON FIRE: New Jersey’s best-kept-secret Larry Stevens, who just opened for Foreigner in December, will be showcasing at the China Club next month. Stevens, who ably continues in the fine traditional of Jersey’s best singer/songwriters, already has two CDs out in the marketplace. At the showcase, he’ll be doing the best tracks from each as well as including some just recorded new numbers.

POP SINGER JEWEL DEFENDS SARAH PALIN

Sarah Palin

Pop singing star Jewel is jumping to the defense of Republican politician Sarah Palin, days after she lost the vote as the potential vice-president elect. Jewel, who grew up in Gov. Palin's state of Alaska, is a huge supporter of women's rights. And she's spoken out against attacks made by fellow musicians including Akon and Grace Jones that Palin wasn't ready to step into office. She tells the New York Daily News, "Alaskan women are very can-do women. We're the pioneer state! The women who settled (in) Alaska had a large role in shaping it. The way I was raised, I never thought I was any different than boys. You can really see that in Sarah Palin."

SARAH PALIN'S TEEN DAUGHTER PREGNANT

Sarah Palin And Family

Presidential candidate John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, said Monday her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant. The shocking announcement stole even more thunder from McCain and a Republican presidential convention already overshadowed by Hurricane Gustav. Adding to the day's drama, McCain aides said the announcement was aimed at rebutting Internet rumors that Palin's youngest son, born in April, was actually her daughter's child. Today's statement, attributed to Sarah and Todd Palin and released by the campaign, said that Bristol Palin would keep her baby and marry the child's father, identified only as a young man named Levi. The baby is due in late December."Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents."

Editors Note: Having a pregnant teen is not what worries me. What worries me, is the fact that Palin has very little government experience and has close ties to Big Oil. She is in favor of opening up Alaska for drilling. It would help if these politicians would wake up. The Oil companies for years have had leases to drill in Alaska and many other places and they won't do it. The Oil thief's refuse to build new refineries as this would bring down the price of Oil. In fact, the Oil companies haven't built any new refineries in over 20 years. Maybe over 30 years. It's time the government sticks it to the huge companies with tax increases and more regulation on how much profit they can make. They made over a Trillion in profits so far this year and they continue to raise the prices. It's time the government starts their own Oil business. Some things are better run by the government. They just are.

Republican Presidential candidate John McCain introduced Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate today. "She's exactly who I need. She's exactly who this country needs to help me fight the same old Washington politics of 'Me first and country second,' " McCain declared as the pair stood together for the first time at a boisterous rally in Ohio just days before the opening of the party's national convention.
