Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and former governor of Alaska has signed a multi-year deal with Fox News to serve as a contributor across all Fox News platforms. The announcement was made by Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming. As a contributor, Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOXNews.com , and FOX News-produced special event political programming for FOX Broadcasting. She will also host episodes of FNC's Real American Stories, a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010. Sarah Palin Pop singing star Jewel is jumping to the defense of Republican politician Sarah Palin, days after she lost the vote as the potential vice-president elect. Jewel, who grew up in Gov. Palin's state of Alaska, is a huge supporter of women's rights.And she's spoken out against attacks made by fellow musicians including Akon and Grace Jones that Palin wasn't ready to step into office. The shocking announcement stole even more thunder from McCain and a Republican presidential convention already overshadowed by Hurricane Gustav.
