Weddings At Dune Point Fire Island

I just have received e-mails from one of the worst hotels in Cherry Grove Fire Island, offering Gay Weddings on the beach and of course a stay at their hotel. I won't even mention the Hotel, I have written about them before and my readers know who they are. To think that they believe that their hotel is a romantic place to get married and honeymoon is beyond me. I wish I was smoking what they were!

I always believed anyone should be able to get married. It is so important for everyone to have the same rights. I remember horror stories from my gay friends, that when their partner got sick, there was no legal paper that said they had any rights to make any decisions. Now this has changed In New York State. It's about time.

Anyway, back to Gay Weddings in Fire Island. All my readers know my favorite place to stay is Dune Point, run by my good friend Petra Brehl. To me, this is the place that would be perfect for any marriage ceremony. Gay or straight. Dune Point is right on the ocean. There are several gazebos which would be perfect to tie the knot. I can imagine a beautiful sunset wedding at Dune Point. There are plenty of rooms for all the guests and no one is better at making a wonderful event than Petra. A gay Wedding at Dune Point, will be a wedding to remember.

Everything you need to have your event is right on the Island. You DJ for your occasion could and should be the best and that's DJ Susan Levine. Susan feels the crowd and no one I have ever seen spins better than Susan Levine. Susan spins up and down the east coast, so if you would rather do your nuptials in New York City or anywhere else for that matter, Susans the gal.

If you choose to tie the knot in Cherry Grove, catering is right at your finger tips. Cherry's On The Bay can cater any event to suit your needs. Owners Donna and Jaquie know how to treat their customers, they own the hottest restaurant and nightclub on Fire Island. If you need a couple of drag queens to catch the bouquet, Jaquie and Donna always have a few extras.

Wedding photos are a must, and I want to do them. Most readers know that before Times Square Gossip, I was the premiere movie star photographer. In fact, I did Golden Girl Rue McClanahan's wedding at the Waldorf Astoria and I even went on the honeymoon with her and hubby Morrow Wilson to capture the excitement of the wonderful event. This is why just about every TV show has profiled me, including 60 Minutes, Entertainment Tonight, Fox News, MSNBC and so many more.

This is the Gay Wedding I can picture at Dune Point Fire Island. You can contact Petra Brehl at 631-597-6261. And as always when you book online, at checkout, type in 'GOSSIP' for your 10% discount or tell them on the phone you want your Times Square Gossip rate. No other hotel on Fire Island matches the love and quality of Dune Point!

I just read this and thank god you have at least one place to recommend! My partner and I just left Fire Island-we rented a room in a house in Ocean Beach run by a nutty real estate broker. It contained in Divine's words:"The filthiest people alive". If those people thought John Waters was making a film-they were wrong! Disgusting gross sad at least we got half our money back. Feh!

Sorry to hear that, the sad fact so many hotels on the island are run down holes. This is why I love Dune Point. You have clean rooms, with kitchens and Petra will make you feel like family. After so many years of me staying at these dumps, because that was all there were, Petra took Dune Point over and made it a home away from home. Check out her website, the photos are real, not these photos that most hotels run that were taken 30 years ago..... Dune Point rooms are all class and the staff has become family. So much so, that some of the Dune Point girls are going back to Czek this week and Im heading out there tuesday night to host a farewell bash for them with my reality show filming. I talked to Petra or should I say texted, and she had two weddings there on the beautiful ocean yesterday.I was running around today in the Hamptons filming Howard Stern and many more celebrities and all I could think of was being at Dune Point at my barbecue inviting everyone to eat and drink and have a good time. So next time go to Cherry Grove, don't even book a room anywhere. Stop by the Dune Point office and ask Petra to give you a tour. You will see for yourself and you will want to stay there. I will be out there in Sept starting the 23rd for a week or more, and I am counting the days. That week its the Cherry Grove Christmas party at Cherry's which is magical. If you book a room online, type in the word gossip for your ten per cent off or call Petra and tell her you want the times square gossip discount. I think you will then see Fire Island in a whole new way, you will feel the love of Dune Point. And they do not advertise with me, I did that ad on my own because they are that good. Only drawback is now everyone is going there and it's hard for me to get a room, because once people go there, they go back and back again. lol.... So even I have to make reservations far in advance. But September is the perfect month in Cherry Grove anyway and they do have rooms, so check them out and let me know. You might see me there, I walk around in pajamas everywhere and just relax and enjoy the love of Dune Point and Cherry Grove.
