NEW YORK CITY FETE FOR JENEBA PROJECT

Jean And Martin Shafiroff

Having completed the construction of a library and a secondary school in Sierra Leone, the Jeneba project continues to expand educational opportunities for youths in West Africa.

On the night of April 16th friends and supporters gathered at Restaurant “I” lounge in Manhattan to raise money for the Jeneba Project. In addition to providing scholarships for elementary school girls, the Jeneba Project is currently fundraising to establish a comprehensive high-school in Sierra Leone. In a country that was devastated by a decade of civil war, education is the true engine of progress and development. Through targeted programs and local engagement, the Jeneba Project is working to empower the youth of Sierra Leone to become a force in shaping the future of their country. By showing up for dancing and exotic deserts, tonight’s guests showed their support for the youth of Sierra Leone.

It should also be mentioned that this is a brand new hot restaurant that donated the space.  Restaurant I. is located at 893 Broadway, btw 19th and 20th Street.
