TV News Star Rita Cosby toured Warsaw last week with the highly publicized release of her new hot-selling book now available in Polish entitled, CICHY BOHATER.
Rafael Publishers had Rita and her team doing the media rounds on many of the country’s biggest TV and Radio shows, including TVP, Poland’s largest, public television network. Rita’s father was Ryszard Kossobudzki, a teenage Polish Resistance fighter in WWII who was later saved by U.S. troops.
Polish media were thrilled to meet an acclaimed American TV colleague, who was the daughter of a gutsy Polish Upriser who fought against the Nazis and escaped from a German POW camp. Sharing her poignant story of reuniting with her father after many years, she thrilled the audiences with anecdotes and emotional details about her father’s escape through the sewers of Warsaw during the Uprising. She also spoke about her visit with Lech Kaczynski, the Polish President whom Rita had met just months before his tragic death in a plane crash.
Rita’s father also recently received an award from the Medal of Honor Society in America for his heroism and contributions toward the liberation of Europe. It was the first time this esteemed group has ever honored a Polish Resistance fighter and in doing so, committee members spoke of the tremendous courage and sacrifice of the Polish people throughout history.
Judging by the response and enthusiasm of the Polish public and press, it looks like "CICHY BOHATER" (Quiet Hero) will be a big hit in Poland too!
