RESORTS HOSTS 'ATLANTIC CITY CINEFEST'

Keith Collins

If you're looking for something cool to do in Atlantic City this weekend, come to Resorts Casino Hotel for the 2010 Atlantic City Cinefest. Presented by Downbeach Film Festival, AC Cinefest promises three full days of independent films of all genres, all of it in the confines of The Screening Room, the gem of a theater in the Ocean Tower at Resorts. Mingle with the filmmakers. Participate in the Q & As. Get some laughs Friday night with a series of comedies headlined by Green, a romp about the medical marijuana business in L.A. Catch Keith Collins and Theresa Galeani in the adventure A Fight for Survival on Saturday, followed in the same block by some serious dramas. Stick around for Sunday's slate of films including the heavy duo of shorts, Speed Grieving and Rainbow Rabbit Reliant. The slate also contains two winning documentaries: Bowling Blind, about a group of blind New York bowlers; and Gerrymandering, a timely look at political shenanigans. Hang around for the awards Sunday when the festival honors character actor, Chris Mulkey. He plays Boss Frank Hague in an episode of Boardwalk Empire. You remember Chris from First Blood, Radio, 48 Hours, Cloverfield and other Hollywood hits. Or just show up at The Screening Room. 13th Floor. Ocean Tower. Resorts Casino Hotel. North Carolina Av and Boardwalk.
