Boston Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett and a host of celebrity friends from the sports and entertainment world raised more than $250,000 for charity at the 4th annual Beckett Bowl presented by Foxwoods Resort Casino. The event was a star-studded ten-pin bowling tournament to benefit The Josh Beckett Foundation and Children’s Hospital Boston.

The festivities concluded with a concert by country music sensation Jason Aldean at the Absolut Beckett Bowl Concert presented by MGM Grand at Foxwoods at the House of Blues Boston. Former American Idol contestant Ayla Brown also performed.

Some notables in attendance included: Red Sox players Josh Beckett, Jason Varitek, Dustin Pedroia, Tim Wakefield, Clay Buchholz, Manny Delcarmen, Jon Lester, Mike Lowell; Red Sox Coach Terry Francona; Red Sox President & CEO Larry Lucchino; Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods CMO Robert Victoria; Country music star Jason Aldean; Former American Idol contestant Ayla Brown; and “Mini Me,” actor Verne Troyer.


About The Josh Beckett Foundation


The Josh Beckett Foundation is a charitable organization established in 2007 by Boston Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett to support community-based programs that strive to improve the health and well-being of children, especially children that are seriously ill, disabled, poor or otherwise disadvantaged. The Foundation provides Beckett with an opportunity to have a direct and permanent impact on the lives of children throughout New England and in his hometown of Spring, Texas.
