View The Intrepid From P.D. O'Hurley's
We made a new discovery last week on Pier 84, right next door to the Intrepid off 44th street. For years we have been going to all the P.D. O'Hurley's and O'Caseys around New York City. We had no idea they had a location on the water, right next to the famous battleship. This place is sure to be the new celebrity hangout on the water. It's outside bar let's you see all the ships cruising in the Hudson and all the action up and down the pier. This is the place to be in summer. It's menu is extensive. The Pier 84 Appetizer Platter was a selection of mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, potato skins & wings for $16.95. We had a Classic Caesar salad with chicken $10.95 and a Cobb Salad with iceberg lettuce, grilled chicken, crumbled blue cheese, avocado, olives, bacon bits and boiled egg at $13.95. For main course we had the Pier 84 Black Angus Steak served with lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle for $9.95. We also had Linguine with hot Italian sausage marinara meat sauce at $11.95 and a Lobster & Shrimp ravioli in an Alfredo cream sauce for $14.95. They also have a great Sunday brunch Sundays 11am-4pm. You can have a traditional Irish Breakfast,Irish sausage, bacon, black & white pudding, egg & grilled tomato for $13.95 or a Smoked Salmon Platter with capers & onions, served with homemade brown bread for $14.95. They have a huge menu of Omelette's as well as various salads. Desserts are the best, but you might want to sit at the bar and choose from a huge menu of beers or maybe a Pina Colada as you watch the sun set over the Hudson River. They have so many huge tables, where you can relax and just enjoy the sites that New York City has to offer.
