RITA COSBY AND HOWARD K. STERN SUIT OVER

Award Winning Rita Cosby

According to the New York Post, actress and model Anna Nicole Smith's former lawyer abruptly dropped his gay-sex libel suit against New York Times best selling author Rita Cosby on Friday. Howard K. Stern sued Cosby over published claims that he was videotaped having sex with the father of Smith's baby. The $60 million case was heading to trial until the one-page settlement agreement was filed in Manhattan federal court after the end of the business day. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, and lawyers for both sides didn't return requests for comment to the New York Post. Stern is due in a California court next month to face charges that he and two doctors supplied the former Playboy Playmate with mountains of prescription drugs before her overdose death in 2007.

I read the only Document that's out there and it said nothing about a "settlement". It said it was Dismissed. James, can you please show me where in the Doc it says it was settled? Thanks.

I, too, would like to see a settlement agreement. I think Stern dropped this case to avoid testifying.

Thanks for picking up this story. Many of us have been following it.
I am sure it was in the best interest of Stern to have this case dropped so Stern did not have to testify but I would like some sort of confirmation as to why this was dropped.

Stern is a very busy man lately. He is going to be even busier in the upcoming year(s).

Now is a great time for Cosby to settle because Stern has got to be absolutely stricken with fear that his freedom is about to slip away. He needs cash to pay all those legal bills and Cosby probably realized she could buy him off cheap in his time of weakness. Stern's time as a hangers-on to Anna Nicole, making D-list celebrity appearances and pushing her absurd claim against the Marshall family all the way to the Supreme Court must seem like a distant memory. What a reversal of fortune!

It took guts to stand alone in the salvo Stern sent Rita's way. Thank you for doing that Rita. Heck of a person.

Mr.Edstrom,
I understand that you are Ms. Cosby's close, longtime friend, but you didn't have the right to delete my very polite comment about her book "Blonde Ambition." Perhaps you disagree with my opinion but you didn't have the right to delete it. Isn't that the essence of democracy?
