The Golden GirlsOur old friend, Golden Girl star Rue McClanahan is doing fine, according to a publicist. The Rep said she is doing "great" after undergoing heart bypass surgery in New York. "She is doing absolutely great," her representative told "Access Hollywood" Friday. "She went for her physical the other day and her doctor didn't like what he found. As Rue put it, she needed 'a little work on her ticker.' She was in great spirits when she went in for surgery yesterday. She's resting in a hospital in New York and she'll probably be out in a week."
Editors Extra: I have not talked to Rue in some time now. She is a one of a kind lady. I was lucky enough to have been her and Morrow Wilson's wedding photographer and I even went on her Honeymoon to capture the great event. The wedding was on a beautiful Christmas day, and a few days later we took a limo to upstate Connecticut for her honeymoon. It was snowing all the way, as we sipped champagne, and it will be a day I will never forget. We wish Rue a very fast recovery.
