The Trump Taj Mahal Casino

The Trump Taj Mahal Towers Room

We spent a good part of last week in Atlantic City at one of our favorite places, The Trump Taj Mahal. Public relations powerhouse Mary Moyer arranged for us to stay in the new Chairman Towers room, which we watched being built on our past visits, and we experienced the ultimate luxury stay. The views were to die for, and the bathroom was a adventure in itself. They were all marble, with seating areas and they were like a whole room by itself. My vacation partner on this expedition was super model John Brand, and he set up all our computers in there, so as I rested, he would not bother me, and believe me, he loved it in there. He had everything he needed, desk, chair, phone, and his favorite, mirrors to see how super he was. The casino was wonderful, with so many new machines, I could not decide what to play first. The staff, as always, was always ready to help us with every need. We enjoyed so much walking the boardwalk and stopping in our favorite place Bills. This is a Atlantic City landmark. The walls are adorned with I would estimate, 200 thousand dollars in real money, that over the years happy customers placed on the walls, the tables, the counters, the chairs and anywhere else they could think of. We visited this place daily, as the food is good and very inexpensive, and their Gyros are to die for. We also got to meet up with our old friend, The Former Snapple Lady Wendy Kaufman and her wonderful husband Steven. They took us to dinner at The Red Square at the Tropicana, and the food was exquisite. It was also funny at how many people came up to Wendy and said she looked just like the Snapple Lady, and the surprise looks on their face when they found out she was. This must be the worst cooperate mistake in history, when the new owners of Snapple caned her a while back. When people think Snapple, they think Wendy Kaufman. She helped build the brand to what it is today, but now I would not even touch the stuff. The dumbness of some executive sitting in his office making this stupid decision to get rid of the smiling face of Wendy 'The Snapple Lady' Kaufman. Another highlight was when MaryMoyer gave us a beautiful tour of Atlantic City. We never knew there was so much to see and we really loved seeing the historic buildings on almost every corner. And no one loves this town more, as Mary was born and raised there. We even got to see the school where she went, but with the young looks of Mary, it would seem like yesterday she was walking down the Atlantic City streets with her books in hand, rushing to class. Mary then took us to another historic place, Angelo'sFairmount Tavern. This place had the best Italian food that I have had in a very long time. Atlantic City has changed greatly in recent years. Yet Angelo's, located in the Ducktown section of Atlantic City at 2300 Fairmount Avenue, is a restaurant that has endured and flourished for three generations of Mancuso's - since 1935 - making this restaurant an institution in Atlantic City. More than sixty-five years of dining excellence have made their homestyle Italian menu age like a fine Italian wine. Through the years, Angelo's has become a perennial gathering place for friends and a haven for the hungry. The walls adorn with celebrity photos, like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and hundreds more. Call to make reservations at 609-344-2439 and tell them Times square Gossip sent you. So if you are looking for a close getaway, head over to Atlantic City for a relaxing and historic rest!
