MARY J. BLIGE TO GET CHILD WELFARE AWARD

Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige will be the guest of honor at a children’s charity benefit in New York City, where she will be awarded for her philanthropy efforts. Mary is going to receive the Nicholas Scoppetta Child Welfare Award at the 10th Annual New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala on September 22nd. The accolade is in recognition for her work as the founder of the Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN), an organization which helps boost women’s confidence and acquire the skills needed to achieve their full potential in the work force. The event, which will be hosted by CNN's Anderson Cooper, will raise money for foster children and at-risk families in New York.
