ELTON JOHN'S HUGE ADOPTION PROBLEMS

Elton John

Rock legend Elton John's dream of being a parent to a Ukrainian baby boy now has problems. The country's government forbids gay couples from adopting children. John and his longtime gay partner David Furnish want to take 14-month-old Lev back home to England after meeting him during a visit to an orphanage in Makeeva, Ukraine. But the pair will need the country's president, Viktor Yushchenko, to grant special dispensation to fulfill their beautiful dream of adopting Lev. John and David are also facing a other legal battles, as Ukranian law prohibits prospective parents to be over 45 years. Even if the rules are bent for John, he will also have to adopt Lev's brother, as official guidelines state siblings must be kept together.

This is terrible. All the biases are hurting the child. Perfect opportunity for a child (or children) to be adopted into a loving, talented, and well adjusted family. So much Elton and David could have gifted of their talents and their lives that would have benefited the child. Missed opportunity?

I hope Elton and David continue with the dream of giving so much love they have to a child. I am sorry Le may not be the child. From what I understand, he was partially chosen because he tested HIV positive.

Just a little bit of love to last a short life time.
