In the mid-1990s, New York socialite and public figure Susan Lennox embarked on a new career in jewelry design, and today is the mastermind behind Susan Lennox Jewellery, creating pieces that have been celebrated in publications such as British Vogue, InStyle, and Town and Country. Susan recognized a need for something new and fresh in the jewelry industry, stating, “It got to the point where the traditional luxury jewelers were unaffordable and yet fashion jewelry was totally undesirable, just miles and miles of $25 plastic necklaces. Her passion and understanding for what women want is reflected through her diverse collections. Her work includes a basic range in which she uses gemstones and freshwater pearls to create necklaces such as the three-strand “amethyst ruffle.” She also has an extravagant oriental collection, inspired by a chance encounter with a beautiful collection of 19th century kingfisher feather hairpieces from the Forbidden City in Beijing. Lennox has transformed these collectable artifacts, using them to create beautiful pendants and necklaces.
