JB DZYNE TURNS ANCIENT IVORY TO JEWELS
Jewelry As Art
Introducing Jennifer Belton, hot jewelry designer and founder of jb dzyne. Jennifer was born into a family of artists and quickly developed her own artistic talents after completing a Fine Art major in college. Over the span of her career, Jennifer has been commissioned by many clients including the Michael Bolton Foundation for her skills in portraiture; however Jennifer would continue to revisit her true passion in jewelry design. During the past eight years, while traveling to Europe, North Africa and Alaska, she came into contact with a type of ivory that she had never seen before, fossilized walrus tusk and mammoth bone and tusk. This unusual type of ivory marked the birth of jb dzyne and inspired Jennifer to create a line of jewelry using these wearable artifacts combined with gold, silver, platinum as well as precious stones. Each piece of ivory and its design is a one of a kind. The designs are more than just jewelry; they have a history that connects the individual with the past and future. Jennifer’s goal is not to make jewelry that only represents her, but rather specialized pieces that have been created to reflect the personal style and self expression of her clients. The ivory used in Jennifer Belton’s work originates from ancient Walrus’ and Mammoths. Walrus ivory is 1,000 to 12,000 years old while Mammoth ivory is 11,000 to 40,000 years old. Not a single animal has been killed or otherwise harmed to produce the fossil ivory and hence these unique and highly wearable artifacts.
