GRUENEYES TO OPEN MADISON AVE STORE

Premium Glasses On Madison Avenue

Grueneyes, the premium eyewear retailer, will be opening its newest cutting edge location on Madison Avenue in June 2008. With clients ranging from, the infamous eyeglass addict, Elton John to the likes of supermodel Kate Moss and former Beatle Paul McCartney, Grueneyes prides themselves on their high profile and elite clientele, innovative designs and attentive service. In addition to offering their own leading design collections of exceptional frames, Jon Gruen, the company’s founder and president, also travels to Milan, Paris and Tokyo to find the hottest looks and the most sought after designer labels. In summer 2008, according to Jon, “sunglass styles are still staying large in size and strong in form.” Jon also noted that “sunglasses are definitely staying with the trend of the bigger the better, and the market is seeing a lot of big, bold shades for summer.” All stores are stocked with the season’s hottest looks including the square Proenza Schouler frames that models donned on the runways during fashion week and the new Tiffany & Co. Swing Oval Wrap frames that are gracing the pages of this month’s glossy fashion magazines.
To make room for new styles Jon, annually holds blow out sales at his Broadway and 69th St. store as well as the Third Ave. and 64th St. store. The next sale goes from May 7th through May 10th and glasses will sell for between $25.00-$125.00. (valued at $225.00-$475.00) Grueneyes sales have become a sought after event, where the tastemakers and trendsetters of New York seek out with numerous pairs of glasses for a fraction of the price.
