Damon told Britain's NME magazine: "The BRITs is like the shopping channel for famous people. I don't really understand why Noel and Liam did the awards, it didn't seem necessary. Their contribution is obvious."They're certainly better than Sting, so why put yourself in a position when you're putting yourself into a linage following him? I don't understand it."Noel - who said he hoped Damon would "catch AIDS and die" at the height of their feud - recently said he liked Damon's new band The Good, The Bad and The Queen. However, ...

OASIS WILL BE JUST LIKE STING

Image

He told Britain's NME magazine : "We're finally up there with Sting, Eurythmics and Sir Bob Geldof, so I'm not sure that congratulations are in order. We're taking it now because otherwise they're going to ask us every year. It seemed the right time. We'd put out our 'best of' album, 'Stop The Clocks', and we're all under 40. So we just decided, 'Fuck it, let's just do it now.' "Despite Oasis' wild reputation, Noel has warned anyone expecting him and brother Liam to bring some drunken anarchy to the ceremony this year will be left disappointed. The rocker, who is famed for his hell raising behaviour, insists they want to close the show with ...

There's always Christmas and kids' birthday parties. And, as bad as it sometimes is being in a band together, I think it would be worse for each of us not working with each other. I don't know why I say that, because in theory it would be bliss, but I kind of know, deep down, that it wouldn't work."Noel insists Liam, known for his wild behaviour and outspoken views, still hasn't grown up and is very much still a "very silly man". He added: "He's still a very silly man. He's got really long hair at the moment, he looks lik...

Image

Noel said: "I was a superhero in the 90s. I said so at the time. Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Pete Townsend, Keith Richards, my first album is better than all their first albums. Even they'd admit that."Despite his boast, the 39-year-old rocker regrets that he will never be able to record anything that will top the band's acclaimed 1994 debut. He added: "Those songs were written in my 20s. All I had in the world was a guitar and a Dictaphone. When you're young, you write about being young and shagging and drugs and drinking. You can't do that when you're 39. I was a different person then."If I knew how to write another 'Definitely Maybe', I'd do one every year. It astounds...
