"GRITTY IN PINK" SUPERCHARGES NEW YORK TECH WEEK

Gritty In Pink made sure NY Tech Week didn’t just talk about innovation, they embodied it. On Wednesday, June 4, more than 350 people lined up outside Live Nation’s New York offices for an event that’s fast becoming a cult favorite: InvestHER Roundtables: Show Her The Money. The night was a high-voltage mix of activism, music, film, and fierce female leadership, with sponsors including the Stella Foundation, Fidelity Investments, Perkins Coie, and the documentary Show Her The Money.

The night opened with a screening of Show Her The Money, a film that dives deep into why women still receive less than 2% of venture capital funding, and what happens when we flip the script. After the film, a panel of power players took the stage: Catherine Gray, who executive produced the film and runs the Silicon Valley Women Founders Fund; Julie Castro Abrams of How Women Invest; Jason Hammond from Fidelity Private Shares; and moderator Sonia Farber of Perkins Coie. The conversation was blunt, data-driven, and infused with a sense of urgency because women’s economic power isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity.

That urgency turned into action when Gritty In Pink founder Shira Yevin announced something big: the launch of the INPINK subscription. Built to empower female and non-binary creatives in music, the subscription will unlock access to exclusive events, industry opportunities, and career resources. It was the kind of announcement that ripples—one that signals not just a product launch, but a movement scaling up.

After the screening and panel, the vibe shifted from theater to think tank. Yevin moderated a deep-dive conversation with venture experts Jenny Fielding, Jennifer Justice, Jennifer K. Mandelbaum, Melissa Withers, Shruti Kumar, Sarah Vinall, and Evi Heilbrunn. These weren’t just surface-level chats about raising money, they got into the real talk about navigating founder-investor relationships, building a capital stack that works, and confronting the invisible hurdles women face in the fundraising world. Following the panel, the speakers led intimate roundtable discussions, where attendees had the chance to ask questions, share experiences, and connect on a human level.

There was no shortage of inspiration or fun. DJ Lóa kept the energy up with an all-female set, while guests mingled over Bareburger sliders and cocktails from brands like Johnnie Walker (complete with engraved bottles of Blue Label), Ketel One, Don Julio, and For Bitter For Worse. Attendees could also get complimentary headshots thanks to Gritty In Pink’s partnership with photographer Erika Garrida.

And in true Gritty fashion, the night wasn’t just a moment, it was a launchpad. This June, Gritty In Pink kicks off its first-ever tour, starting in Boston and heading through the Northeast, SoCal, and the Southeast as part of the official Vans Warped Warmup Tour. With acts like Sweet Pill, Royal & the Serpent, Sophie Powers, and the always-electric All GRL Jam series, these shows are more than concerts—they’re calls to action.

Gritty In Pink isn’t just about putting women on stage. It’s about rewriting the rules of who gets heard, who gets funded, and who gets a seat at the table. From a packed room in New York City to a summer tour hitting every corner of the country, they’re building something bigger than an event. They’re building a future.
