IMANI SCOTT BRINGS A UNIQUE VOICE & PRESENCE

Imaní Scott

Drawing upon the musical influences of such current and past legends as Beyoncé, Chaka Khan and Etta James, Houston-born singer Imaní Scott brings a unique voice and presence to her music unlike few other performers working today.

Determined to create a different kind of sound that stirs up emotions and reinvigorates funk in a bold new way, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter released her third single “Get Litty” in March 2017, seven months ahead of her highly-anticipated debut album, “The Introduction,” released by Blue Diamond Music this past October.

It was produced by Isaac “Chill” Yowman, the legendary producer who was also the creative force behind Beyoncé’s smash feminist-themed album “Beyoncé,” which was released in 2013.

Scott’s other two singles, “All Over Again” and “Throwing Glitter,” were released in May and August of 2017, and have already taken the music world by storm. Known for her bold and soulful vocals that combine R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop and Funk for a fresh take on multi-genre music, Scott also recently embarked on a nationwide 13-city tour, working alongside such well-established acts as Big Boi of the Dynamic duo OutKast, the legendary heartthrobs Bel Biv Devoe (BBD), Wyclef Jean, Teedra Moses and Adrian Marcel. The successful tour wrapped up this May with performances in Houston, Los Angeles, Austin and New York.

“These days we want to be so numb to everything, but I want to put that emotion back in the music, that Earth, Wind & Fire, so we can live in the moment,” says the songstress. “I am determined to bring live instrumentation back to the music, to fulfill what we once had and get away from the artificial sound. I want to bring intelligence back to people listening and get us to level back up.”
