Hamptons power player Jean Shafiroff, who is best known for her philanthropic impact, can be found hosting, chairing and receiving high honors at exclusive galas and events for numerous charitable causes throughout Summer 2018. As a volunteer fundraiser, leader and spokesperson, her efforts improve the lives of underserved populations, women’s rights and wellbeing, healthcare, animal welfare and resources for children in need.

Jean serves on the boards of New York City Mission Society, French Heritage Society, Couture Council (Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology), Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services for more than 20 years, Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation Honorary Board, Southampton Bath & Tennis Club’s Charitable Foundation, and Global Strays. In addition, Jean is an Ambassador for the American Humane Society, the Ambassador-at-large for the Southampton Animal Shelter, and remains a very active Board Alumna of the New York Women’s Foundation.

· Southampton Hospital’s 60th Annual Summer Party

The Southampton Hospital’s 60th Annual Summer Party is an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing to benefit the Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, which is the sole provider of emergency care on the South Fork, treating more than 25,000 people annually. Philanthropists Martin and Jean Shafiroff will serve as Chairmen of the President’s Committee.

The Pioneer Chapter of Hadassah will hold its 24th Annual "Woman of the Year" fundraiser luncheon in Westhampton Beach. Philanthropist, activist, and author, Jean Shafiroff is the recipient of the 2018 “Woman of the Year” Award. Every year Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. awards women who motivate, inspire, and strengthen their partnership with Israel to ensure Jewish continuity and the potential as a dynamic force in American society.

UNCF’s President and CEO Dr. Michael L. Lomax, joined by co-chairs, Jean Shafiroff and Gregory Lowe II will celebrate distinguished individuals who continue to make extraordinary contributions in the field of education. Proceeds from the event will benefit UNCF’s educational initiatives and ensure deserving low-income students get the resources they need to get to and through college.
