SUMMER OF LOVE @ SOUTHAMPTON HALSEY HOUSE

The Thomas Halsey Homestead

SOUTHAMPTON NY -- On Saturday, July 7, between 5:30 and 8:00 pm the Southampton Historical Museum will celebrate the Summer Of Love at its annual Halsey House Gala. This neighborly lawn party "Be-In" takes place at Southampton’s oldest home - The Thomas Halsey Homestead, established in 1648 by one of our founding families. Attendees to the 2018 Summer of Love fundraiser will enjoy sunset cocktails amid a colonial landscape and newly restored herb garden.

Inside the expansive tent, friends can enjoy our nostalgic late-1960s Hamptons chic atmosphere and toast to the summer ahead, while the lavish hors d’oeuvres are locally-sourced from our farms and bays. Spontaneous dancing on the grass is encouraged…music by DJ Twilo will feature Joni Mitchell, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and Jefferson Airplane, among other 60's and 70's hits.

A curated silent auction offers the essentials of life in the Hamptons, like a cocktail cruise on a wooden sailboat, just-found antique treasures, bountiful baskets of organic produce, and delicious Hamptons restaurants' offerings. Support your Museum with a contribution and please join our festivities!

Executive Director Tom Edmonds is very excited about this year’s theme. “I know every person who comes to the Gala and was around during the 1960s will have a great time. Having cocktails, eating delicious foods and watching the sunset - while listening to the great music of that era - will put everyone in a state of joy.”

The Thomas Halsey Homestead is located 249 South Main Street in Southampton. Tickets are $150 each for adults in advance and $200 each on July 7. Special prices for young people include $50 for those age 16 to 30 years old and $20 for children 15 and under. To order tickets call the museum at 631 283-2494 or use PayPal at southamptonhistory.org
