Bridgehampton, NY — Philanthropist power couple Don & Katrina Peebles hosted Cocktails and Conversations in honor of the New York City Mission Society at their Bridgehampton home on Friday, July 7th, 2017. The elegant but understated event benefitted the Mission Society’s programs and services, which help youth and families in our city’s most underserved communities break the cycle of poverty and achieve success. At the event, Mrs. Peebles gave a touching speech about the society’s mission.

Both as a couple and individually, Don & Katrina Peebles have an outstanding record of charity work. Mr. Peebles generally focuses his charitable work on empowering underprivileged youth with the tools they need to pursue entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, Mrs. Peebles usually focuses her charitable work on politics, art, and historic preservation. Together, Don & Katrina Peebles use their influence to help children and families. Some of the initiatives and organizations that have benefitted from their board service and fundraising include the YMCA of Greater New York, the Women’s Cancer League, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and the campaigns of President Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama, among others. Don & Katrina Peebles philanthropic activities expand to Miami where they work with groups such as CARE Elementary, and The Viscya Museum. Mr. Peebles is also a former Chairman of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Upon graduating with a B.S. in Journalism, Katrina Peebles began a marketing career at Carter, Hawley and Hale (parent company of Neiman Marcus) in San Francisco. Later, Katrina spearheaded the Peebles Corporation real estate tax appeal business in the early 1990’s, which became the most successful real estate tax appeal firm in the District of Columbia. In the mid-1990’s, after the launch of Peebles Atlantic Development Corporation, Katrina began preparing responses to requests for proposals, guiding marketing efforts and promotions for mixed-use developments including The Royal Palm and The Residences at The Bath Club.



Though she has invested time in the Peebles Corporation, Katrina has always found it important to give back to her community and has invested her time in various charities. Katrina has always expressed an interest in politics and has hosted and contributed to political fundraisings for the past 27 years. And though politics and charity organizations are a large interest to Katrina, she also has a love and devotion to art and design. Katrina is currently bringing her design and marketing expertise to 108 Leonard- a collection of 156 luxury condos coming to the market in Spring 2017. Katrina has taken over the responsibility of the family’s philanthropic priorities while caring for her two children and working at the Peebles Corporation. Katrina sits on the board of directors for CARE Elementary School in Miami, as well as the NYC Mission Society.
