E!’s Chief News Correspondent, Melanie Bromley, took an in-depth look at Miranda Lambert and Black Shelton’s “fairytale” relationship to see how it started, where the break-downs began and what really caused this pair’s storybook romance to fall apart.
On Miranda’s tearful performance over the weekend:
- Weeks of keeping her broken marriage a secret had finally caught up with her. Miranda knew she would soon be releasing a statement and the world would realize her fairytale romance with Blake Shelton was over.
On the couple not being able to escape their past:
- Blake’s candid admission about allowing Miranda access to his text messages and emails lets us into a secret about what was really going on behind closed doors.
- Here was a man who made a living out of writing songs about loving a drink and liking pretty girls. It gave people the wrong idea, and encouraged some of the tales about his life away from Miranda...And in some ways Miranda encouraged the gossip.
On the couple’s incompatibility:
- His vivacious personality can be a blessing and a curse. At first the differences between them helped Miranda look at the world in a different way. “I'm not sunshine and roses,” she told Marie Claire six months ago. “Blake's the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness…”
