Carnegie Deli along with Tomaczek Bednarek and James Edstrom, from  www.TimesSquareGossip.com hosted today, the creation of a sandwich in honor Les Gold and Hardcore Pawn. Les Gold may be the most famous pawnbroker in America, thanks to his hit reality TV show Hardcore Pawn. He owns American Jewelry and Loan in Detroit, a 50,000 square foot empire, immortalized on truTV’s iconic show.

Les and his kids, Seth and Ashley Gold sure were surprised with the famed deli's new creation. The LES GOLD HARDCORE PAWN SANDWICH is made up of: the HARD heels rye bread toasted, GOLDen mustard, HARD salami, TONGUE because Les won’t take any talking back, Turkey off the bone, Lettuce and Tomato.

The Gold's were also celebrating the release of Les Gold's first book, FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH: Business Wisdom from a Pawnbroker, published by Penguin Group. Gold argues that anyone can be more successful by thinking like a pawnbroker. Since joining the family business at age 12, Gold has dealt with customers who sometimes get unruly or even violent. He became a master of the arts of persuading, negotiating, selling, and sizing up the true value of just about any object.

But beyond practical advice, his book includes fun stories of his weirdest, wackiest deals, including the time his father tried to pawn a monkey, and the time Les negotiated for a stripper pole.
