JET BLUE'S STEVEN SLATER NEEDS JAILTIME

Steven Slater

“JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater headed off to court today to face charges of criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and trespassing. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. The charges stem from a meltdown last month aboard a JetBlue flight from Pittsburgh that had just landed at John F. Kennedy Airport. In case you live in a vacuum and have no clue who beer guzzling Stevie is~ he is the flight attendant that couldn't take his passengers' complaining anymore and was pushed over the edge. In his addled state, Stevie decided to pull the emergency exit door off and slide out of the parked JetBlue airplane... at least that is what he claims. From the looks of the the online website kikster, who posted the exclusive images maybe he was just in a hurry to get to the bar. Steven posted images of himself while at work that I am sure JetBlue wouldn't be to fond of... It really doesn't look like this guy was a "good" employee! Steven posted this image with the caption: "how many infractions can you spot!!!!!"Slater is negotiating a plea bargain that could spare him jail time, his attorney and the Queens district attorney said today. District Attorney Richard Brown said his office has agreed to negotiate a deal that would place Slater in a program that offers defendants treatment options or community service in lieu of jail. A deal would also likely reduce the current charges of trespassing, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Editors Note: Slater needs to be sentenced to a year in jail. To look at these photos of him drinking beer on a Jet Blue plane makes me sick. He was risking peoples lives by drinking on the job. To think he thought it was OK to just open the planes emergency slide drinking a beer and to leave the plane. If a passenger is mis-behaving, he should have made a report and Jet Blue would have banned the traveler from future flights. Reminds me of when a celebrity was still talking on her cell phone on a American Airlines flight from Chicago To New York when we were in the air. When I called the stewardess, the woman threw her phone in the pouch on the seat in front of her. She denied being on the phone, but other passengers told the stewardess she was lying and she hid the phone. The stewardess found the phone and took it away, and told the Captain who told her she would never be allowed to fly American Airlines again.

Slater was trusted to protect the flying public. The right thing to do was to report the passenger. Instead he grabbed a beer, slid down the emergency slide and then grabbed every second of television time to bask in the media spotlight. If a passenger did the same thing as he did, the passenger would be serving time. Jet Blue and the public should insist Slater serves time.
