Hamptons Shock Over Camille And Kelsey Grammer
****

Camille And Kelsey Grammer

At Bridgehampton’s popular watering hole Bobby Van’s, folks are still in disbelief at the breakup of Kelsey Grammer and Camille Donatacci’s marriage after two children, 13 years of marriage and the building of their Hamptons dream house. The “Frazier” star and his former Playboy model were regulars at Bobby Van’s and were often seen there dining with Rudy & Judith Giuliani and mega-builder Joe Farrell and his wife Kristen. Word is Camille had agreed to star in the upcoming reality show, “Real Housewives of Beverley Hills” and Kelsey currently starring on Broadway in “La Cage aux Folles” was having none of that. The pair filed for divorce citing the usual “irreconcilable differences”. Despite the fact that Camille is reportedly seeking full custody of the kids, Kelsey is asking friends and fans to be kind to her.

Calvin Klein To Build New Mansion

Calvin Klein

After purchasing one of Southampton’s most garish and infamous ocean front mansions once owned by Bernie Trupin, designer Calvin Klein succeeded in getting permission to tear down the Gothic horror to build a more contemporary manse by the sea that would be more in keeping with his much known decidedly minimalist style that would be ½ the size of the Trupin castle and designed by Michael Haverland. Now we here that CK has filed new set of plans with the Town Board for an even smaller more eco-sensitive home surrounded only by natural vegetation which buzz has it will sail through the next review meeting.

Patrick Askin One Man Show

Marty Richards

New York actor Patrick Askin is raising eyebrows – and support all over The Hamptons - for his latest theatrical venture Posing an autobiographical one-man show which he recently performed before a sold-out house at The Wild Project theater on the Lower East Side.

The charming and attractive Mr. Askin appears as an art class model, posing au naturel for most of the performance (naturally) while recounting his life experiences, from his childhood days of advising his older sister on her prom attire, to his mistreatment by the NYPD for the "crime" of crying on his Chelsea rooftop during a period of depression.

This 75-minute tour de force takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride from comic to tragic and back again, with the emphasis on the comic. Mr. Askin's humor is of the self-deprecating variety, never mean-spirited or bitter, even when recounting career setbacks or relationships that ended badly.

Askin is hoping to take Posing to an off-Broadway theater for a limited run and is seeking investors has caught the interest of reps from Tony award winning producer Martin Richards’ and Bay Street Theater. He can currently be seen in the Casper Andreas/Jesse Archer film Violet Tendencies

Hamptons Magazine Annual Clambake

The Montauk Yacht Club

This year the party moves further east to the very hip and newly renovated Montauk Yacht Club where the magazine’s publisher Jason Binn, his wife Haley and editor Samantha Yanks will welcome the crème de la crème of the nightlife scenemakers. This is one of the don’t miss parties of summer.

Editors Note: Since they moved the location a couple of years ago all the way out to Montauk, most of the movers and shakers I know do not go anymore. We wonder if Hamptons Magazine is being paid to throw the party there. Just wondering....

I am sure Klein's new home will be great, but I thought that old mansion of his was a cool place. Anything resembling a castle always holds appeal to me. I mean I am sure he does not need the near 50,000 square feet, but he probably does not need the proposed 17,500 either. I will be sad to see the mansion go.
