In this weeks Steppin Out, beauty Simona Fusco tells Chaunce Hayden about her (forgettable) night out with Mickey Rourke.

Simona Fusco On Steppin Out Cover

I know what you think. He seems like the kind of guy how would pull out a knife on you or something. But he just loves to go out and have a good time. One night a bunch of us went out with him and later everyone went back to his house. But he lost the keys to his house, so he climbed up the wall into an open window and then forgot we were all outside waiting for him to open the door. He just passed out on us! He's still so in love with Carrie Otis. When we went out that was all he would talk about. The entire night he just kept talking about her. I couldn't take it anymore. I never met the girl, but it was enough. It's a shame, because he messed it up. But isn't that like all guys. They mess it up and cry afterwards, after she's moved on.

Pop singing star Madonna is not getting special treatment in her quest to adopt a young girl from Malawi, her spokeswoman said today, amid criticism Madonna is receiving special treatment in the African country. Malawi civil society groups have said they plan to oppose Madonna's attempted adoption of four-year-old Mercy James, while a prominent local human rights activist said the move would amount to trafficking in children. Madonna appeared in court in Malawi yesterday seeking to adopt Mercy. The case was adjourned until April 3rd. "The adoption process for Mercy began over a year ago when Madonna met her on one of her visits to Malawi. Critics had accused the government of giving Madonna, special treatment when she adopted her three-year-old Malawian son David Banda, saying it skirted the laws that ban nonresidents from adopting children.

Oprah At School With Students

Another scandal is slamming the South African girls school founded by television talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, leading to the suspensions of seven students, according to the foreign media. The all girl students at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy School For Girls were suspended for "inappropriate behavior" toward other children, the British Telegraph newspaper has reported. Quoting reports from the Afrikaans on Sundays newspaper, a 15-year-old "preyed" on another student, then coerced others into lying to investigators about what really happened. Six other students were suspended after "being alleged to have touched each other intimately," or intimidating others into inappropriate behavior, the Telegraph reports. The Telegraph quoted Lisa Halliday, school spokesman, as confirming the suspensions. "It is because they contravened the school's code of conduct," she told the British paper. This is the second incident of alleged sexual misconduct at the school, which opened in January 2007 after Winfrey contributed $40 million dollars to the great project. In 2007, a dorm matron was charged with sexually abusing and assaulting six students and another supervisor. Following the matron's arrest, a tearful Winfrey vowed to "clean house" at the boarding school for impoverished girls. She called the incident "one of the most devastating, if not the most devastating, experiences of my life."

Impressive Last Quarter 19th Century Entry

Calling all re-modelers, architects, decorators, prop stylists and antique aficionados: perched uptown on East 125th Street is the collector’s dream-come-true, otherwise known as ‘Demolition Depot’. Part of the Irreplaceable Artifacts company formerly of downtown New York City, Demolition Depot is essentially a grown-up’s toy store for décor enthusiasts, with antiques and architectural artifacts such as antique & vintage lighting, hardware, plumbing fixtures, doors, stained glass, windows, railings, mantels, and decorative terra cotta & stone elements. Owner Evan Blum runs a smooth operation, organizing the architectural treasures perfectly over eight floors. For example: the ground level is devoted to lighting, hardware, mirrors and columns, whereas someone on the hunt for bathroom fixtures should climb up to the fourth floor, and across the street for four additional floors if you are in the market for a fireplace mantel and/or accessories.Blum and his team of experts strip soon-to-be demolished historic buildings in the city and internationally, rescuing beautifully crafted pieces such as sparkling chandeliers, beautiful entryways, and fireplace mantels, to bring back to their Harlem headquarters. Many of these pieces are a unique piece of history, originally belonging to NYC legends such as a 19th century German Renaissance style carved chestnut mantel from the home of John D. Rockefeller, and a ceiling lighting fixture from renowned Playwright Oscar Hammerstein’s 1920's office. It is not just the magical collection of artifacts and architectural details that make exploring the store so delightful - Demolition Depot makes it easy for visitors to navigate through their ever changing inventory. Unlike many stores that make finding a price impossible, Demolition Depot tags each item with a number that can be used to check for the prices on communal computers. If customers are involved in a building or restoration project, Evan Blum and his staff will work closely with them to assist in buying and selling artifacts, in addition to making recommendations appropriate for their project. Demolition Depot has numerous private warehouses filled with all variety of antique architectural objet d'art, so if it's not found on the website, or in their New York City or Middletown, Connecticut, showrooms, chances are, it can be retrieved from one of their hidden treasure troves! To further help décor aficionados and novices alike, Evan and his sister Leslie Blum have written a book called, “Irreplaceable Artifacts: Decorating the Home with Architectural Ornament.” Restaurants, movie sets, renowned houses, hotels, and celebrities have all found special pieces here to enhance their environs. Just recently, a prominent New York hotelier & restaurateur was seen perusing the unique items for his new downtown establishment. Visit Demolition Depot and bring home a piece of history to your own home!

Candy Spelling

Tori Spelling's mom Candy is explaining her recent decision to sell the family estate in Los Angeles California, putting the big move down to fears she will never again spend time with her estranged daughter. The mom and daughter had a huge falling out before the death of Spelling's father, Aaron, in 2007. They finally reconciled later that year, following the birth of the actress' first child, Liam, with husband Dean McDermott. But mother and daughter are back on bad terms, and Candy now has little hope they will ever salvage their relationship. Spelling is admitting the most hurtful part of the fight is being kept away from her grandchildren, because she has never had a chance to meet the latest addition to the family, Stella, who was born last year. And she has put the family mansion on the market because her young relatives will never be able to enjoy it. She tells People.com, "I don't see Tori and Dean anymore. I used to see Liam, but no longer. And I've never met Stella. I've tried to talk to her (Tori), but that doesn't work. She may not even know why she's angry. "If I had any hope that I would have a relationship with my grandchildren I would never sell this house. I've fantasized for years about a wonderful playhouse on the grounds for children." Spelling placed the family home in Los Angeles on the market earlier this month for $150 million. The three-story mansion has a bowling alley, wine cellar, library and a gym.
