QUENTIN TARANTINO'S 'ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD' FILMS AT FAMED MUSSO & FRANK GRILL

Image
ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD   The legendary Musso & Frank Grill, located in the heart of Hollywood and currently celebrating its 100th anniversary, is featured within a key scene in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. The film, from Sony Pictures’ Columbia Pictures label, opens in U.S. theaters on July 26th. The new film marks the most recent appearance of the famous restaurant in the cinema since Musso’s first opened its doors in 1919 on Hollywood Blvd. In 1922, Buster Keaton’s movie "Cops" became the first in a long series of feature films - and later TV shows - to use the landmark venue as a location in which to film interior scenes, exterior scenes, or both. “I feel so lucky that there’s a place like the Musso & Frank Grill - one that exists now exactly how it has always been,” said Mr. Tarantino. “It was fantastic being able to shoot at an iconic landmark that is so authentic and connected to Hollywood.” Adds Rick S...

THE QUENTIN TARANTINO PLAYBOY INTERVIEW

Image
Quentin Tarantino Candid Conversation with the maverick director about why bloodier is better, the fun of reinventing history and how he wants his career to end “I just don’t want to be an old-man filmmaker. I want to stop at a certain point. Directors don’t get better as they get older. Usually the worst films in their filmography are those last four at the end. I am all about my filmography, and one bad film f*cks up three good ones … When directors get out-of-date, it’s not pretty,” says filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Playboy’s November Interview sits down with the maverick director to talk about Django Unchained, facing 50 and why he’s no longer a Hollywood outsider (issue on newsstands and i.Playboy.com Tuesday, November 20, with the complete interview available HERE .) On quitting making movies while he’s ahead: “I’m on a journey that needs to have an end and not be about me trying to get another job. I want this artistic journey to have a climax. I want t...

SOME GOOD POT FOR TARANTINO AND PITT

Image
Quentin Tarantino Quentin Tarantino has put holes in Brad Pitt's story that he has given up smoking pot, by revealing the couple puffed up a storm last year. Pitt was claiming that he quit marijuana when he became a dad in two separate interviews, insisting he couldn't look after his six kids with Angelina Jolie, while under the influence of the fun weed. Last week, he told TV commentator Bill Maher, "I'm a dad now. You want to be alert and my eyes used to glaze over when I did that." But in an interview with radio host Howard Stern on Monday, Tarantino revealed Pitt provided him with some "pretty good" pot when they met to discuss their new movie "Inglourious Basterds" last year. Tarantino told Stern, "He takes this brick of hash, whips out a knife, like Jesse James, and cuts me off a big slither. I go, 'Do you have a pipe to go with this?' And he handed me a Coke can!" Editors Extra: Hey, we just smoked one writing this ! ...

QUENTIN TARANTINO WANTS TO MAKE PORN

Image
Quentin Tarantino says Gwyneth Paltrow would be a terrible porn actress. The ‘Kill Bill’ director would love to make an erotic film, but doesn’t think Paltrow would make the grade. He told FHM magazine: “I could do an erotic film, I wouldn’t mind doing a women-in-prison or a cheerleader movie. And, if I do it, I’m not going to cast someone like Gwyneth Paltrow. It would have to be a cool, trampy actress who says, OK, let’s get the cameras rolling – here we go!’ ” The 44-year-old director also revealed his favourite place in Hollywood to “get laid”. He said: “Hands down the best p***y party in Hollywood is the New Line Christmas party, thrown by the guys who made ‘Lord of the Rings’. To not get laid at that party you’ve got to be so unfamous that even you don’t know who you are.” Tarantino has been romantically linked to a string of Hollywood women, including actresses Mira Sorvino and Allison Anders and ‘Lost In Translation’ director Sofia Coppola. He has also described ‘Kill Bill’ sta...
