PULITZER PRIZE WINNER FRANK MCCOURT DIES

Frank McCourt Frank McCourt, the former public school teacher who enjoyed fame as the author of "Angela's Ashes," the Pulitzer Prize-winning "epic of woe" about his very poor Irish childhood, died Sunday of cancer. McCourt was 78. The writer had been very ill with meningitis and recently was treated for melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.
