The terrific Eric Bogosian, who essayed Captain Danny Ross in the show, was shot and gone forever. The terrific Vincent D’Onofrio was suspended and suddenly, new to the show Jeff Goldblum, with Kathryn Erbe, were suddenly running the show. The entire show, about a nefarious gun-running plot bordered somewhat on the absurd; especially when a rival FBI-task force kept rearing their heads in the investigation. Hollywood star Ewan McGregor is coming to the defence of mental and toxic singer Britney Spears by insisting she doesn’t know how to defend herself against the media circus that surrounds her.The singer was placed on psychiatric evaluation at a Los Angeles California hospital last month. And the actor is convinced Spears needs to concentrate on her work as it will give her the focus she needs to put her life back together. He says, "I feel sad for her. I look at those pictures of ambulances and outside her house and there are hundreds of paparrazzi. It makes me feel sick."I’m lucky to understand how to defend myself from it now if I need to. Ewan McGregor in scene from Star Wars Actor EWAN McGREGOR has plans for a third cross-continent motorcycle trip just days after he embarked on his latest adventure from Scotland to South Africa.The Scottish star completed his first road trip from London to New York dubbed the Long Way Round - in 2004 with his actor pal Charley Boorman, and they are currently riding through Egypt as part of their three-month African adventure, which is being filmed for the BBC. And with several thousand miles still to go before they reach their final destination, the pair have already decided upon their next challenge. McGregor says, "I think we both decided that there was two big obvious trips left after we’d done the London to New York trip - Long Way Round."We looked at a world map and we thought that there was the Africa trip, and then the South to North America trip. So we both decided to do the Africa trip first."

Ewan McGregor turned down the role of James Bond. 'Casino Royale' director Martin Campbell offered the role to the 'Moulin Rouge' actor in the early casting days but the Scottish actor snubbed the offer over fears of being typecast. Campbell, who also directed 'Golden Eye', told Britain's Sunday Times newspaper: "I think he got another job or decided he didn't want it. "The 'Star Wars' actor, 35, admits playing the suave spy would have been "fun" but said he had concerns over the long-term nature of the role.
