ROCK ICON BO DIDDLEY DEAD AT AGE 79
Rock ‘n’ roll icon Bo Diddley has died from heart failure at age 79.The singer passed away on today at his home in Archer, Florida after a long battle with his health, his spokeswoman Susan Clary confirmed.The rock star, born Ellas Bates, suffered a heart attack last August, just three months after being struck down by a stroke during his tour in Iowa.The stroke affected his speech and he suffered from poor health until his death. Diddley began his rise to fame in the 1950s after being discovered by Checker Records. He scored his first big chart hit in 1955 when he reached number one on the U.S. R&B chart with his self titled track Bo Diddley.
