JOAN JETT & LONG BEACH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Joan Jett

The Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF), produced by the Long Beach Film Institute, 501(c)3, has been supported, since its inception four years ago, by Long Beach resident Joan Jett.

On April 18th, as Joan Jett is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the LBIFF is excited to announce that they will be establishing a music film series in her honor. The Joan Jett Music Film Series will join the 4th annual LBIFF this September. Joan has been there in support of the festival since its inception, through hurricane Sandy, and beyond. Joan's accomplishments and her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are legendary, and an example to all, most importantly, empowering women.

As a local resident of Long Beach, with success and ties within the film and music industry, LBIFF feel that Joan portrays the perfect example of determination, talent, vision, compassion and success that they hope to bestow upon our film community.

The LBIFF also believes that young inspiring individuals should be rewarded for their hard work, creativity, and dedication to the arts. They have set up a scholarship in her name for young local artists. This scholarship we will be able to aid in the educational growth of such young, struggling artists and help them move forward to achieve their dreams.

The fourth annual LBIFF will be held September 24-27th 2015 with venues in Long Beach, Garden City and Rockville Centre.

Film submissions are now being accepted through FilmFreeway.com and Withoutabox.com
