The following was written by my friend of many years by Kaity Tong on her Facebook page. I agree with Kaity, Sarah Wallace is one of New York City's icons. Her reporting at Eyewitness news was amazing and when Sarah reported a story, you knew it was coming from someone you can trust. More and more the news people we trust for so many years are being forced out of their jobs to make way for younger, inexperienced reporters who have no connections and no idea how to get a story.Veteran reporters are being replaced with young Barbie and Ken posers who have no idea how to get the job done.

This is happening at every news station and every newspaper. I get very tired of giving a great story to one of these new reporters and if its not all on the Internet, they have no idea how to work it.

What makes a good reporter in New York City is someone who is not afraid to get down and dirty, to get to the bottom of a story. Sarah Wallace was relentless fighting for the truth. Sarah also has the connections to get a story, the powers in NYC trust her and confide in her. Losing Sarah Wallace is a loss for the people of New York City, it is also a huge loss for Eyewitness News.

I am writing this on behalf of my dear friend Sarah Wallace.

Anyone who has worked with her knows that she is absolutely THE most dedicated, tenacious, fair, and professional journalist around. She is brilliant. And has been brilliant for more than 30 years.

I worked with Sarah in Sacramento several decades ago, and we were all in awe of her talent and professionalism.

I worked with Sarah at Eyewitness News. Same thing.

She does not have enough room on her mantle for all the Emmys and Peabodys that she has earned. And she has a big mantle.

But beyond that, Sarah is one of the most genuine people I know. She is a true friend, who will literally give you the shirt off her back, if you need it. She is kind, down-to-earth, not a phony bone in her body.

I know Sarah will be on the air again soon because she is that good. But I am appalled that EWN would treat an icon like Sarah this way.
