Actress Julie Bowen sat down with HuffPost Live on Tuesday and set the record straight about her young "Modern Family" co-star Sarah Hyland. Bowen, who was present when Hyland ended her relationship with abusive boyfriend Matthew Prokop, said that her role in the conflict was "grossly overblown."
Bowen: "I love Sarah and I support her wholeheartedly, but I think legally I'm not allowed to talk about it. Honestly I didn't do anything special at all. Nothing that you wouldn't do for a anybody who's going through a break-up. I think it just got a lot of attention because she's an adorably cute person who's on TV."
Bowen: "I think I'm not allowed to talk about it, but it wasn't anything you wouldn't do if somebody called you up and said, 'Hey man, I'm going through a tough time.' You'd jump in."
