US Weekly Cover Miranda Lambert

The new Us Weekly’s cover story is all about how the country superstar, Miranda Lambert, got her best body ever –without giving up cocktails with husband Blake Shelton! Lambert had lost weight before – and gained it back, too. But as her milestone 30th birthday fast approached, the sassy crooner made a vow to get – and keep – her body red carpet ready. One pal estimates the 5-foot-4 star has lost 25 pounds, bringing her right to her goal weight – and she did it without giving up her favorite Southern home cooking, or at least half of it! “she’s doing portion control,” explains a source. “She eats part of what she normally does and it’s working!” While she gave up bigger portions, she continues to have her favorite liquid indulgence. “I refuse to give up drinking,” Lambert tells Us. But instead of high-calorie drinks, she concocts low-calorie treats using Crystal Light and Sprite Zero. Aside from smaller meals and her diet-friendly spirits, Lambert credits her weight loss to daily workouts, designed by her beloved personal trainer. “I absolutely hate exercise,” she said last year, “but my trainer is so nice, I want to do push-ups to please him!” Now that Lambert has finally hit the mark, a friend says, “she has a new confidence about her. She feels amazing.”

THREE RING CIRCUS

Also in this week’s issue, after fearing for her family’s safety Denise Richards decided to give up the care of her ex Charlie Sheen’s twins. Now the boys are under the temporary care of their third guardian in six months, the twin’s mother Brooke Burke’s brother, Scott. Complicating matters further, Scott — an internet entrepreneur — lives with Brooke at her Beverly Hills home, according to TMZ. Says a source of the custody situation, “It’s truly a three-ring circus.” Other insiders worry about previous chaotic conditions at Brooke’s home. Before Brooke went to rehab in May, “there were new nannies every week,” says one source. The boys had no enforced bedtime, either. “Brooke’s day is night till sunrise,” says another source. “She kept the kids up all night because she wanted them to spend time with her.” In the end Denise has no regrets about putting her three daughters first and removing the boys from her home. “Denise did what she felt was necessary and feels relieved,” continues the Richards insider. “She has worked hard to keep her daughters in a safe environment, and she wanted it to stay that way.”

AMERICAN IDOL MOMENT

It’s been 11 years since Kelly Clarkson sang about her triumphant American Idol moment. But to her, it feels like a lifetime ago. “I get tired when I think about all the stuff I’ve done!” she quips. And now that she has stockpiled awards (including three Grammys) and hit albums (20 million sold and counting!), the new bride of music manager Brandon Blackstock is eyeing her next milestone. “Bring on the kids!” says Clarkson. The Nashville resident, who just released her holiday set, Wrapped in Red, sat down with Us to discuss her past and her future. “[Having kids] is I can talk about,” Clarkson revealed. “My eggs aren’t getting younger! Brandon has two kids, and I want two more. I saw Adele at the Grammys, and she said, “Girl, don’t have a baby ’cause everything else will go on the back burner. I’m living in babyland!” I keep adding stuff on, but I want it all.” When asked about almost being a judge on Idol, Clarkson told us “The producers came to me and wanted to bring some “originals” back to judge. Cool idea, but I was going on tour with Maroon 5. I’m also getting a pop and a country album ready for next year, and I want to be on Broadway. Maybe next time around, but for now, I have a lot to sing about. I’m blessed!”
