REVERB NATION IS NEW MUSIC INDUSTRY HIT

Dominick DiPietrantonio

ReverbNation.com (based in Durham, NC), launched in 2006, is a site that focuses on the independent music industry. It aims to provide a central site for musicians, venues, labels, and industry professionals to collaborate and communicate. The company offers web promotion, fan-relationship management, digital distribution, sentiment tracking, web-site hosting, and concert booking and promotion.

As of March 2013, 2.7 million musicians have created ReverbNation accounts, and the website continually receives over 30 million unique visitors per month.

Many established artists, have used ReverbNation for one thing or another. Sean Kingston and Phish both use the ReverbNation Band Profile app - the most popular Facebook application for musicians - on their Facebook pages. Karmin grew their fan base off of YouTube videos that linked to the exclusive downloads widget at ReverbNation. This grew their mailing list and eventually gained them a major deal. The Alabama Shakes (who were on Saturday Night Live recently) got their big break when a famous music blog featured a song from their ReverbNation profile.

Hundreds of ReverbNation artists' songs have been featured in movies, commercials, television shows, and video games - all earning ReverbNation artists’ money.

Now, count Long Island’s own Dominick DiPietrantonio as another successful reverb ReverbNation success; as his songs have moved this week, into their #36 position. PR-executive David Salidor said of the service, “For establishing a new artist; you couldn't ask for a more reliable service. Look at their track record. It speaks for itself. In this digital age, it’s a first-rate service.”

With Dominick finishing his debut album and about to ink a recording deal, the ReverbNation announcement couldn’t have come at a better time. “To me, it’s the icing on the cake. This year’s big success for me has been my song, ‘Only One For Me,’ being on the Hollywood Girls web show, but when I heard about ReverbNation, it felt really good.”

Recording in both Long Island and New York, the sessions are proceeding quickly. Dom’s management suggests his first album could well be released in the fourth quarter this year.
