When violence breaks out in an African American community over a pair of “Sky Max” shoes, sales triple among white teens. Meanwhile, a new pill guarantees to cure racism, advertising that “if you think you don’t need it – you’re probably a racist.” HONKY is a black comedy, in which five people, white and black, navigate the murky waters of race, rhetoric and basketball shoes.

Critics have raved about HONKY calling it a piece that will make you laugh and think” The Examiner; “The brilliant cast of eight performers accompanied us on this comedic social rollercoaster. Harlem World Magazine; “Honky” is a watchable and sometimes enlightening experience” Review Fix; “Honky, in is a fizzy new comedy of rare perception: witty, sharp and troubling. Kalleres’ sense of nonsense is sublime. “Kalleres doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable observations about race” OffoffOnline
